It’s been a big week for One Direction and starting on Monday, it’s only going to get bigger with the release of their third album Midnight Memories. The boys take over Billboard magazine to talk MM, their future plans and what exactly went through their head during that boo-ing incident at the MTV VMAs.
1D recently wrapped up their 134-city Take Me Home tour, which they were recording Midnight Memories at the same time! Talking about their hectic schedules, Harry Styles says, “I don’t think it’s that hard to stay focused. We get to go to amazing places and work with great people, it’s just really fun!”

Niall Horan obviously agrees by adding, “Luckily, I have my four best mates on the road with me to keep me from getting lonely. Of course we all miss home at times. Who wouldn’t, being on the road all year long? Wouldn’t give it up for anything though.”
After recently celebrating their three-year anniversary of 1D, the idea of looking towards the future is something that the guys don’t really think about. It’s all about living in the moment. “We just love what we’re doing right now. We’ve got no intention to change that,” Liam Payne says. His bandmate Louis Tomlinson adds, “Who knew we would be here three years ago? We’re just going to focus on tomorrow and go from there.”
While One Direction may have thousands of girls screaming for them on the daily, they didn’t exactly get the same reaction when they won “Song of the Summer” at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards – it was more like boos! “The award was fan-voted so we owe all the thanks to the fans,” Harry says about the incident. “We always have something to prove and hope that the music will speak for itself.” Swooning. But so much swooning going on over here.
