Well this doesn’t sound good. Let’s face it -- The Wanted have been having the amount of success that they had hoped for within the past year (their album Word of Mouth was kind of a bomb). But this news of them announcing a break to pursue personal projects is still kind of a shock.

The band released a statement on their official website announcing their hiatus, saying, “This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour’s conclusion.”

The statement continues, “The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”

This surprising news comes a month after they cancelled European tour dates due to “some unforeseeable changes in our scheduling.” Plus, rumors of being dropped from their label, Universal, have also been floating around for the past month so we’re wondering if that has anything to do with them taking a break from the group.

Regardless, we will be getting at least one more single and music video before The Wanted are no more. They also announced the upcoming release of their “Glow In The Dark” music video very soon.
