After 22 years, Jay Leno has officially said goodbye to his night time gig as the host of The Tonight Show. But before Jimmy Fallon can step into his shoes and sit behind his desk, it was necessary to give the funny man a proper goodbye. And what better way to do that than with a slew of famous stars – oh, and the President of the United States. Obviously.

With all the time that Jay will have on his hands, he’s gotta find something to do now. So celebs like Olivia Wilde, Matt Damon, Miley Cyrus, Mark Wahlberg and plenty more all offered up some advice on what he can do to fill his time. We have a feeling he won’t be doing any of these things.

Next, Jay’s good friend Billy Crystal decided to honor him by bringing in Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Jack Black, Sheryl Crowe, Jim Parsons and Chris Paul to bid him adieu with their own rendition of “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music.

Finally – grab the tissues, you guys – Jay got a bit emotional saying goodbye to his long-time audience and crew behind The Tonight Show. “This has been the greatest 22 years of my life,” he said while crying. “I am the luckiest guy in the world. I got to meet presidents and astronauts and movie stars. It’s just been incredible.” He added, “And, in conclusion, I want to quote Johnny Carson: ’I bid you all a heartfelt good night.’”

So long, Jay. Thanks for the laughs all these years.
