Hollywood is still mourning the loss of the late great actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, including the cast and crew behind his last role in The Hunger Games franchise. While he still had seven more days of filming left for Mockingjay Part 2, many were wondering how the producers and studio heads would handle his absence for the remainder of the film. According to Page Six, they’ll be able to do it with lots of technology.

Lionsgate will use CGI technology to digitally-recreate Philip for his role as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. While he wrapped up all his scenes for Mockingjay Part 1, he was left with one major scene to film for Part 2.

“These days the technology of using someone’s likeness is a whole lot easier to do,” special effects supervisor Rob Legato told The Hollywood Reporter. “I won’t say you could generate a Philip Seymour Hoffman with all the acting ability, but you could certainly replicate him for a shot or two.”

Philip passed away last Sunday of a drug overdose in his New York City apartment. Lionsgate released a statement on behalf of The Hunger Games cast and crew, saying, “Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation. We’re very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send out deepest condolences to Philip’s family.”
