We’d like to argue the fact that Sarah Hyland is one of the most relatable girls in Hollywood, and in May issue of Seventeen Magazine she talks all about self-love, happiness and how dealing with a pretty severe health issue lead her to all of this.
As you all know because you binge watch in whenever you can, Sarah plays Haley Dunphy in Modern Family and she never fails to make us smile even though personally she has been through a lot. In 2012 she had a kidney transplant, but that hasn’t held her back.
"I was born with so many health issues that doctors told my mother I would never have a normal life. And she said, 'You're right, she won't – but it won't be because of her health. When my mother told me that story, it resonated with me: If I can't have an ordinary life, I might as well have anextraordinary one. If you set your mind to something, you'll achieve it."
We can’t even imagine what Sarah must’ve gone through, but we are very thankful that she shared this story with us because the moral of it is extremely important for everyone to know!
"Happiness, I've learned, comes from within. I am happiest when I am doing something I love. And I love Modern Family – it's the best job I've had in my 20 years as an actress," she stated. "It didn't come easily or fast or free: It took me 14 years to land a gig like this."
She believed in herself through all of her struggles, and that is something to look up to and something that we all need to tell ourselves every day!
"When you're feeling vulnerable, it can lead to doubt and second-guessing. It will steer you away from your goals and your happiness. Once you have a goal, keep moving forward – even if you're taking baby steps!"
Yes! This is exactly what we need to hear today, so thank you Sarah for once again putting a smile on our face!
