Spring has finally sprung, and I couldn’t be happier! Personally, I love spring because it means that we're that much closer to summer. The flowers are in bloom, the birds are chirping, and there's a generally feeling of newness in the air. With a new season, means it's time to pack up that winter wardrobe, and make room for new springtime wear, and the days of the basic floral dress are over. With that in mind, I've put together a list of the four top trends taking over this spring, and the best ways to add them into your wardrobe!

Check out all my tips below:

Utility and military chic style was all over the spring catwalks. It's much harder than the pretty florals we're used to for spring because there can be a both a heaviness and a darkness with this style, but it's really fun to incorporate and change things up for the season. This style brings a bit of traditionally fall pieces, like flannel and khaki, into the mix, but changes things up with the cut and accessories. It's perfect for the "un-girly girl," and actually works great when you mix it in with more traditional springtime looks.

Not too long, not too short... but just right. The midi - a.k.a. mid-length - skit hits below the knees and is a flattering style on every body type. Whether you're tall or short, like me, curvy or rail-thin, this a-line skirt manages to hit the body at just the right spot, and keeps you cool, but not too cool for spring. The skirt also pairs perfectly with long, short, sleeved, un-sleeved tops, and jackets, and you can add in a great springtime pop of color with pastels.

I know I may be starting to sound like a bit of a broken record, because  khaki - or army green - was all the rage in the fall... and the winter, but it was also all over the runways. Seriously, this color is just the gift that keeps giving. It's a neutral that pairs well with light colors, dark colors, earth tones, and pastels.... I might even go so far as to say that khaki is the new black.

What's old is new, and just like winter, the seventies are back for spring.  Seventies' style incorporates bright colors, comfortable shapes, and a great juxtaposition between soft and hard lines. It's super flattering on the body, and allows you to have fun with your fashion with great colors, patters, and accessories.  it's a fantastic way to showcase your style without taking yourself too seriously! Yellow and the off-the-should top are both really big right now, and easy to incorporate into any wardrobe... just make sure to choose the right shade of yellow for your skin tone.

There you go! Happy Spring everyone! Which trend will you be adding to your wardrobe? Let me know in the comments, and watch the latest episode of StyleWire below, to see all the looks in action:
