In the latest ‘W’ Magazine’s issue, Angelina Jolie is featured on the cover, apparently breastfeeding in a picture taken by Brad Pitt.
Inside, the magazine boasts an “intimate” look at Angelina, with more shots taken by Brad Pitt in their Southern France home. Angelina Jolie looks absolutely stunning in a simple moment in the role she seems to play best: mother.
While most celebrities with new babies either hide them away or go with the posed and
overdone gossip magazine cover, this picture of a mother taken by the father during a tender moment seems to be the most genuine and natural representation I’ve ever seen on the subject.
The family welcomed twins Vivienne and Knox to the world over this summer, with Angelina having said that Vivienne takes after her in looks, while Knox looks like Brad.
In a recent Parade interview, Angelina said,
“I’m very happy, and I’m so lucky. The world can like me, hate me, fall apart around me, and at least, you know, I wake up with my little kids and I’m happy.”
With the numerous films and charities that Angelina Jolie is apart of, it is still inspiring to see that she takes such an active and supportive role in her family, while still looking gorgeous and poised.
As for breastfeeding, Angelina has said,
“We try to get them to eat simultaneously for the sake of management but it gets a little crowded at the bar.”
And she still has a sense of humor about it all.

Thank the Goddess there’s a Hollywood star out there who’s willing to put herself up as a milky earth mother - soft, gentle - an incredibly beautiful shot. Forget the airbrushed contrived shots these evocative shots convey more than a professional photo shoot ever could.
This is especially important after issues in the past year with Facebook and MySpace banning photos and disabling accounts of mothers with breastfeeding photos on their accounts/pages. This is the sort of PR that breastfeeding and motherhood deserves rather than the ridiculous and destructive photos and articles about ‘yummy mummys’ and the amount of weight celebs have lost after their babies and how many weeks they’re bodies snap back into form.
I remember when Demi Moore appeared naked and pregnant on the cover of a major magazine - which caused shock waves - prior to that pregnant women just did not do that! I hope this too creates positive shock waves throughout the western worlds and more women take the time and effort to breastfeed their babies as a result.

I love that Hollywire is showing what a beatiful thing Angelina Jolie is doing, breastfeeding her children. Other stories are reporting them as “shocking pictures.” What is so shocking about a mother providing her children with nourishment? More women need to realize that breastfeeding ia natural thing and is the best nourishment for their children. Good job Jolie-Pitt family.
