Britney Spears attended gymnastic classes until she was nine years old and competed in state level competitions.

At the young of 8, Britney Spears entered New York City's Professional Performing Arts School. She attended the school for three summers.
3. Awards
Britney Spears won 35 awards in 1999, she was only 18 years old. According to wikipedia.com, Britney has won a total of 137 awards from 1999 to now. 19 of the awards were won in 2008 and she is already nominated for 3 awards in 2009. That's pretty impressive!
2. High School
Britney Spears spent only one year attending a traditional high school. When she was 14 years old, Britney returned to her Kentwood, LA home after living in Florida for two years while filming the Mickey Mouse Club and attended her local High School. One year later, Britney moved to New York to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.

Like many other celebrities, Britney is charitable. She is a supporter of the Britney Spears Foundation, Luke Neuhedel Foundation, Elevate Hope Foundation, and Promises Foundation.
