Dennis Quad and his wife, Kimberly, have agreed to a $750,000 settlement for the near lethal blood thinner mistake earlier this year.  If you remember Dennis Quad’s twins were administered 1000 times the normal dosage of a blood thinner at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., a mistake that is all to common in hospitals today.  You can read more about the settlement at gabbybabble.com.

Three men involved in Lindsay Lohan’s DUI bust back in July 2007 have filed suit against the washed up star.  Remember when she went crazy and carjacked that SUV and chased her recently fired assistant?  Yea, well I guess the three guys that were IN the car when she took it are not pleased and are seeking restitution.

They are seeking damages to the tune of $25,000.00 for, get this, battery, false imprisonment, and they claim the ‘Mean Girls’ star was negligent when she took them on that wild ride.

Lohan’s attorney, Ed McPherson, called the lawsuit “absurd.” He says the men were having fun during the chase and questioned why they waited more than a year to file suit.  Yea, that’s what I was thinking…

“It just doesn’t make sense,” McPherson said. “They had ample opportunity to get out of the car.  It’s three guys who want to get a lot of headlines,” he said, “and want to make some money.”

Lohan is also being sued for emotional distress by a woman who was in the car that was being chased by the actress.

Oh, Lindsay.  You are one hot mess!

If you do not recall, Lindsay chased down her former assistant’s mother all the way to the police station–landing Lohan in the slammer.  The cops suspected that Lindsay was on the sauce and booked her for DUI.  The panties flasher eventually pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine. She served 84 minutes in jail and entered rehab.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Steele declared a mistrial in Britney Spears’ driving without a license case on Tuesday, October 21st.  For some odd reason, this case made it all the way to trial, but in the end, the jury could not agree on a verdict.  Even after the judge allowed for additional closing arguments and two days of deliberations, the jury remained deadlock 10:2 in favor of an acquittal.

The charges against Britney stemmed from an incident in L.A. last August in which she hit another car when she turned into a parking space.  Britney claimed that she had a Louisiana license and that Louisiana was considered her permanent residence.

Britney plans on returning to her home state of Louisiana and is having a new home built there, but the plans have been put on hold because she has not regained custody of her boys Jayden James and Sean Preston yet.

Britney’s lawyer, Micheal Flanagan, stated,

Today’s outcome shows my client did nothing wrong.  I consider this a victory.  Britney was vindicated in that she took on a system that attempted to make an example of her celebrity.

It’s about time one of Britney’s lawyers won a case and earned their money.  I bet she was shocked she finally beat the system.  What do you think?

FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on Wednesday morning on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws.  Cogill is suspected of streaming songs from the unreleased Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” on his Web site.  His bail was set at $10,000.00

Cogill admitted that he posted the music on his site, but later took them down.  Still, prosecutors said the leak could result in a “significant” financial loss for the band.

“Guns N’ Roses representatives have been made aware of the arrest and are leaving the matter to the authorities,” said Larry Solters, the band’s spokesman.

Guns and Roses is of course the 80’s hair band (for all of you born in the 90s) that has only one original member left, Axl Rose.  The re-grouped band has been working on this album for about 10 years and everyone has been waiting with baited breath for this big comeback!  You can check out some of the old stuff below, enjoy!

At least the band themselves are not suing the blogger, he is going to have enough trouble dealing with the FBI as he has only a public defender and can not afford good representation.

Some people just think they are holier than thou! Victoria Osteen, the wife of evangelical pastor Joel Osteen and co-pastor of Lakewood Church in Huston, was on a Continental Flight when she apparently lost it.

It seems as though Victoria began to fly into a tizzy when some spilled liquid ended up on her first class seat. It just went crazy from there, Victoria became more agitated while the flight attendants remained professional and reassured her a crew had been called to clean the spill, which was about the size of a 50-cent piece.

The flight attendant to bear the brunt of her anger was Sharon Brown, who accuses Osteen of assault. Stating that she threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast during an angry outburst. Then the crazy bitch angry passenger tried to get into the cockpit. That’s when she had to be physically restrained and her family was asked to leave the flight. They left voluntarily, no need for an escort. I will see myself out!

Yeesh!

Well of course, Olsteen is being sued by Brown who has her story backed by co-worker, Maria Johnson. She confirmed what happened in her testimony on Thursday.

“She took Sharon by the shoulders and pushed her out of the way. Sharon stumbled,” Johnson said.

Look people, I don’t care who you are, you just don’t do that to a flight attendant! Seriously, they don’t mess around with that crap.

Johnson also told jurors that Victoria Osteen kept saying: “This is ridiculous. I’m a first-class passenger.”

Really? You are going to pull that card?

Olsteen’s lawyer says that Brown is trying to get money and is exaggerating the story. Brown is asking for punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of Victoria Osteen’s net worth as part of her suit. Oh, and an apology. McKamie, who is Brown’s attorney, said that Brown, who had undergone reconstructive surgery before the incident on her breasts due to illness, was injured when she was hit on her chest. Brown also suffers from anxiety because of the incident and that her faith was affected, her attorney said. Brown is also suing Victoria Osteen for medical expenses for counseling. She also is claiming she now suffers from hemorrhoids.

EWWWW! That is a bit extreme, I seriously doubt that!

Plus 10 percent is huge, their church is ginormous!

See, told ya. It’s like a sports stadium or something. Get that many people tithing their income and you can get a pretty penny. Maybe thats how she can afford to fly first class and thinks she is intitled to special treatment, ala ‘clean up this freakin’ spill, do you people know who I am?!’

But I digress.

The Osteens were both expected to testify during the trial, which is ongoing.

Halle Berry has filed suit against pap photogs for taking pictures of her and her baby because they got them in a shady way.

These sleeze balls trespassed onto her private property! Creepy! I am sorry, but that is a stalker move if I ever heard one!

The Oscar winner was in her own backyard with her newborn daughter, not out and about in public streets, when the pictures were taken. She (of course) flipped out when she saw the pictures on the internet and in two celebrity mags.

Her lawyer said a criminal complaint has been filed and an investigation is under way. Those guys are lucky they didn’t get shot! Her lawyer also said there are witnesses who saw the photographers in the middle of a “very blatant and invasive trespass.”

Something has to be done; it is one thing to be out shopping in public streets and having your picture taken, it is quite another to have your privacy invaded when you are in your own home!

50 Cent is suing Taco Bell for using his name in their commercial advertisements of their new low price menu.

Taco Bell’s president Greg Creed officially asked the rapper to change his name from 50 Cent to 79, 89, or 99 Cent and promised $10K to his charity of choice if he agreed.

“We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to ‘Think Outside the Bun’ and hope you accept our offer.”

You have to admit, it was a funny offer, but we all knew that Fiddy would never do it.

But Fiddy apparently didn’t think it was so funny. He felt that his fans were accusing him of being a sellout and he feels used in that the company took his name without his permission to sell their product. He is asking for $1 million in damages.

The lawsuit document reads,

“Taco Bell traded on the name of the world’s biggest hip-hop star to draw attention to its new, hip-hop-based advertising campaign, and thereby generated massive publicity for its business.”

According to Hollyscoop, sources have confirmed that Khloe Kardashian (Keeping Up with the Kardashians) will report to jail this Friday, July 18, 2008, to serve time for her DUI arrest last year.

“The judge is trying to make an example out of her,” said an inside source.

The 24-year-old was originally sentenced to 30 days, but will mostly likely serve less than 1 day.

Are we surprised?

On the night of July 4th, Catharine Elizabeth (’Cate’) Edwards, the elder daughter of John Edwards, the 2004 nominee for Vice President of the United States from the Democratic Party, was sitting reading the fine print of a Public Intoxication ticket, instead of watching the fireworks commemorate the birth of the country her father wanted to help run.

Edwards was fined for drinking in public while sitting outside of a house party with friends in Newport Beach, CA. She was sitting next to a group of guys playing beer pong when the cops arrived. No worries, they were all of legal age. I know, the beer pong throws you off! Edwards is 26 years old.

In her defense, she’s no Jenna Bush, and was not the only one who deserved a fine that night at the party. However, she was the only one who could be ticketed since she was technically the only one carrying an alcoholic drink at the time police arrived at the location on a routine July 4th neighborhood check. She was a victim of having the wrong drink, at the wrong place and the wrong time.

Sources tell Hollywire that Edwards tried to talk herself out of the ticket and even asked the two officers if they knew who she was. Yeah, she went there.

Bad move, Cate. Being a part of a political family, you don’t want to be telling everyone who you are while getting intoxicated, or even just holding a red plastic cup with water in it.

Also, I think the “do you know who I am” question might have not gone over well with law enforcement in a city that is still mostly conservative.

On another note, unsafe driving is a sensitive issue with the Edwards family, as Cate was rear-ended by a drunk driver earlier this year, and John and his wife lost their son, Wade, at age 16 in a car accident in 1996 from being swept by strong winds in North Carolina.

Flight attendant for NetJet, Lisa Wilson, is suing Jennifer Lopez for $5 million for the alleged injuries that she received from Lopez’s dog during a 2006 flight.

The suit states that Lopez boarded the NetJet plane with a German Shepard guard dog and gave Wilson instructions as how to behave around it during flight. An hour and half later, as Wilson was walking down the aisle, the dog lunged at her for no reason and bit her pant leg, causing her to fall backwards and sustain injury to her back, which apparently has prevented her from getting further work.

Within days, Wilson sought treatment for her back and underwent surgery in 2007.

Wilson claims that Lopez, “knew or should have known that the animal had vicious propensities.” The flight attendant is seeking damages from both Lopez and her production company.

Lopez had no comment on the suit.
