George Takei tied the knot with long time partner Brad Altman yesterday.

The actor, known for his role as Sulu on the Star Trek sci-fi TV series, was the first to pay $70 for a marriage license in West Hollywood in June after the California Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage.

The ceremony was held in a multicultural ceremony at the Japanese American National Museum that featured a Buddhist priest, Native American wedding bands, a Japanese Koto harp and a bagpipe procession.

The couple, matched in white jackets, black pants and bow ties, made their grand entrance to the tune of “One Singular Sensation” from the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. They stepped into a circle of yellow roses and lilies in front of 200 guests, where they shared a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and were wed by a Buddhist priest.

Wedding guests included Star Trek stars Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols, who served as best man and best lady, Hollywood executives, local and national government officials and the couple’s relatives from around the world.

Nichols said: “I was fighting back tears but they came oozing out anyway. I’m so happy that they’re both able to legally proclaim their commitment to one another after spending the past 21 years together.”

The happy couple posed for photographs and Takei flashed the Star Trek “live long and prosper” hand signal.

Takei and Altman wrote their own wedding vows. Altman described Takei as his “life partner, significant other… now, I can add ‘my husband’ to the list of things I call you.”

Takei joked that his partner was an “organized, detail-obsessed, punctuality-driven control freak”, adding: “I’m easygoing with details, so we’re a good fit.”

Taking Altman’s hands in his, the actor said: “I vow to care for you as you’ve cared for me… and to love you as my husband and the only man in my life.”

The reception took place in the grounds of the Japanese American National Museum, a reference to Takei’s heritage.

Takei said before the ceremony: “We have a relationship that’s been stronger and longer lived than some of our straight friends, and yet we were not equal. What this does is give us that dignity.”

The “Star Trek” star and his manager plan to honeymoon in Argentina and Peru.

James Gandolfini married his girlfriend of two years, Deborah Lin on Saturday, August 30th.

The couple was married in Deborah’s hometown of Honolulu Hawaii in front of 200 guest in a ceremony that lasted about 20 minutes.  A harpist played the “Hawaiian Wedding Song” as Lin walked down the aisle.  She wore an Italian lace gown and both the bride and groom wore long green Hawaiian leis around their necks.

James Ganolfini’s 8 year old son from a previous marriage was Best Man.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married last night, August 16th.

The couple exchanged hand written vows in front of 19 guest during their intimate wedding ceremony at their home in Los Angeles, California.  Both Ellen and Portia wore Zac Posen and exchanged wedding rings designed by Neil Lane. L.A. florist, Mark’s Garden provided the flower arrangements.

Ellen announced her plans to wed Portia back in May on her talk show shortly after the Supreme Court overturned the ban on gay marriage.  Then in June Portia showed off her 3-carat diamond ring at the Emmys.

Ellen talked about de Rossi in an interview stating that, “She’s taugt me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her.  We’ve both changed and  grown, and we just feel like, ‘Oh, okay, this is completion.’”

The famous lesbian Hollywood couple, talk show host/comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi, are getting married tomorrow, reports US Weekly. They will have a small intimate ceremony with family and friends.

Ellen announced their engagement on her show in May.

“It’s something that we’ve wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited,” DeGeneres, 50, gushed.

Of the preparations, DeGeneres joked, “Planning a wedding is very stressful. It’s crazy. My gardener is now invited.”

Ellen and Portia started dating in 2004.

In an interview with Advocate Ellen said about Portia,

“I feel like I found my perfect fit. She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her.”

I can’t wait to see the wedding photos. I bet Ellen will be dressed in the fiercest suit ever and Portia’s dress is bound to be just gorgeous.

Congratulations to the latest celebrity couple to get hitched! Singer Jewel and rodeo champion Ty Murray tied the knot Thursday night in a private ceremony in the Bahamas.

Jewel and Ty have been together for ten year- holy cow what were they waiting for?  The pair live on a 2,200 acre ranch in Stephenville, Texas when they aren’t performing before their fans.

Jewel talked a bit about marriage and her wedding and said,

“It’s something that needs to be take seriously.”

“I dreamt about this day since I was a little girl on a ranch in Alaska,” Jewel said. “It was relaxed and romantic. I wore a traditional wedding gown and diamonds, and he wore jeans and a button-down shirt. Ty’s definitely my perfect prince.”

Jewel released her first country album, Perfectly Clear, earlier this year. Check out Ty in her music video for her current single, “I Do.”

OK! magazine is reporting that new parents Jamie Lynn Spears, age 17, and Casey Aldridge, age 19, are planning to wed this fall or sometime before the years end.

Jamie Lynn, not looking to have a big luxurious wedding, will have the nuptials in the backyard of her new house in Liberty, Mississippi, which is only 30 minutes from her home town Kentwood, Louisiana.

A friend told OK!: “She loves everything about the area where she lives. She’s not going to get married at some luxury resort in the Caribbean or a hotel in Beverly Hills. Her own backyard with just the people who matter most is more Jamie Lynn’s style.”

With the big day is coming closer, the friend said Jamie Lynn has already “down to her pre-pregnancy weight” adding that “She has the cutest figure!”

Britney will be her made of honor and Casey’s sister Ashley will be her bridesmaid. Jamie Lynn and Casey will also involve little Maddie on the wedding, having her carried into the ceremony in a basket decorated with flowers by their mothers.

The magazine promises “complete, exclusive details - from the dress to the hair to the wedding bands - of Jamie Lynn’s wedding plans” on its new issue, on newsstands Thursday, July 31.

Queen Latifah hasn’t even officially come out of the closet but there are already wedding bell rumors! Latifah has supposedly been dating her personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins for the last 5 years. And now, with the overturn of the ban on gay marriage in California they are going to be taking the walk down the aisle! According to the National Enquirer it will be a small ceremony with just a few family and friends and it will take place this summer.

Queen Latifah has never commented on her relationship with Jenkins, but it seems like they are way more than friends. Last year Latifah surprised Jenkins with a very elaborate gift - a Range Rover. Now, would you buy your personal trainer a Range Rover? No, I didn’t think so. Not only is Queen Latifah ready to get hitched but it has been reported that shes looking into adopting a child.

We’re barely 6 months into 2008 and it’s already turning out to be the year of celebrity engagements weddings wait no I mean babies. Well you get my point! It seems every week we hear about a “fairytale” wedding, or the birth of the latest celebrity spawn. All these engagements and weddings are making me think that I’ll be doing a list of the top 10 divorces of 2009. Ok, ok some of them might make it to 2010. So for those of you who aren’t keeping track of celebs’ fascinating lives, let’s review shall we?

Lets start with our favorite betrothed celebs. Which couple has the best chances and who’ll be headed for splitsville?

Fergie and Josh Duhamel: She’s a pop princess and he’s TV’s hottest hunk. These two love birds are in the planning stages for their wedding, but have already been bombarded with baby rumors. Only time will tell if those rumors are true, as well as if these two make it to the aisle!

Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker: Next to jump on the marriage bandwagon was tennis hunk Andy Roddick, who announced his engagement to swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker in March. The couple dated less than a year before Roddick popped the question. Something tells me this will turn out to be Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields part two.

Carmen Electra and Rob Patterson: Ms. Electra is giving marriage another shot. The couple was engaged on Carmen’s 36th birthday. Judging by her previous track record of short marriages to Dennis Rodman and Dave Navarro, I don’t think the third time is the charm in this case.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds: These two are the latest to announce their impending nuptials. Scarlett showed off her ring at this years Costume Institute Gala in early May.

I say the couple with the best bet of making it is Fergie and Josh Duhamel.

A few stars have already tied the knot this year. There was Beyonce and Jay-z, who still think we’re crazy and want us to believe the wedding never happened. Then we have Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, who just recently announced they are expecting their first child - can anyone say shotgun wedding? Two days after Ashlee and Pete, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren–also expecting their first child–tied the knot. And perhaps the most shocking wedding of the year belongs to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. Something tells me they’re going to regret those matching tattoos by August.

This year it seems we’ve hit the celebrity baby motherload (pun intended). I can’t even begin to name all the kids that popped out this year. So I won’t, I’m just going to name the cute ones whose parents are famous enough.

OMG! It’s happened again! Another celebrity couple gets married suddenly and secretly!

Jessica Alba, who topped our baby bump list, married Cash Warren on Monday in a quiet ceremony. The Fantastic Two announced their engagement around the same time as their pregnancy, and since the pair have been engaged for awhile, the marriage is not a complete surprise. In fact, Jessica has said before that she wanted to get married in a civil ceremony, followed by a small reception with family and friends. They certainly did a good job of keeping it quiet!

Congratulations to the happy couple! We can’t wait to see the baby!
