Madonna Kicks Off Her Sticky and Sweet Tour

Posted on 24 August 2008 by Loretta

Madonna kicked off her Sticky and Sweet Tour last night in Cardiff Wales. 40,000 fans filled the Millennium Stadium to watch Madonna perform. Madonna, who just turned 50 last week, came on stage looking just as hot as she did the first time we saw her perform back in 1985. She wore her usual risque attire, a black leotard outfit designed by Givenchy and black knee high boots. 24 year old fan Ruth Henson said,

We enjoyed it to the max. Madonnna, considering she’s now 50, is so fit. She did a really good job.

The Sticky and Sweet Tour has 50 scheduled show dates and is expected to gross an estimated $250 million. The tour will feature music by Justin Timberlake, Kayne West , Pharrell Williams, and Britney Spears, some of which also appear in video clips. Check out the clips from Madonna’s concert.

Katy Perry Kissed a Girl and She Liked It!

Posted on 21 August 2008 by Loretta

Jenna Buhmann was the lucky recipient of a kiss from Katy Perry. While singing her hit song “I Kissed a Girl,” at the Warp Tour on August 9th in George, Washington, Katy reached into the crowd and kissed 16 year old Jenna Buhmann. Buhmann, who is openly gay, told Mirror.co.uk.com that,

I was quite near the front and had my arms reached out towards her, singing along. She looked me right in the eyes for about 15 seconds, and that’s when I knew it was going to happen. I puckered up my lips, she let go of the bodyguard’s arm, grabbed my arm and pulled me towards her. I grabbed her face, put my hand on the back of her head and just kissed her. The crowd went crazy. It was exhilarating, it was such a rush. She was a good kisser and she had very soft lips.

Here is a clip of the kiss, although the kiss is hard to see and you gotta get to the 3:40 mark.

Jenna said that, “The kiss didn’t last that long, but to me it felt like it lasted forever. She’s a pretty attractive, sexy lady. If I met Katy again, I’d certainly thank her-and ask why she picked me out.”

So there you have it…It wasn’t Miley Cyrus, but Katy finally got her kiss. Do you think it tasted like cherry chapstick?

Britney Spears Might Join Madonna’s ‘Sticky & Sweet’ Tour

Posted on 06 July 2008 by Loretta

Rumor is Madonna has asked Britney Spears to join her on tour.

Britney-Spears-Madonna

Apparently Madonna feels that it will help resurrect Britney’s career if she appears on the Sticky & Sweet Tour.  However, if Britney does perform it will only be on some of the dates not the entire tour.Britney-Spears-Madonna

According to The Sun,

They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show.  And they are talking about Britney taking stage on a few of the dates too.  It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self.

Britney-Spears-Madonna

Madonna and Britney last performed together at the 2003 MTV Music Awards when they shocked the world by sharing a passionate kiss during their performance.  If the rumors turn out to be true we can only hope that Britney is ready to perform this time.  If she performs like she did at the VMA’s her career will be ruined forever.

Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour is scheduled to begin August 23rd.

Amy Winehouse Punches a Fan

Posted on 29 June 2008 by Loretta

Amy Winehouse punched a fan during her concert Saturday night, June 28th, at the Glastonbury Festival.

Amy-Winehouse

According to the festival boss the crazed fan had grabbed Amy’s breast prior to her attack.  In addition to attacking a fan, Amy spit her gum into the audience and called Kayne West a c**t at last night’s performance.  Check out the clip of Amy’s attack below.

With all of her anger and drug issues I am surprised that she is still able to land a gig.   I just can’t believe that anyone would still want to see her perform.

Music for the (Volunteering) Masses a Big Success

Posted on 26 June 2008 by CeCe

Music For the (Volunteering) Masses a Big SuccessOn Friday night, June 20th, Boost Mobile RockCorps’ national youth movement concert tour made a stop at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Universal Studios’ City Walk.

The concert was organized by Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC) to reward thousands of young people for their service to the Los Angeles community.

While I was backstage I talked with one of the organizers for the concert and they are going to be starting RockCorps concert over in the U.K.

So it was exciting to know that in the future even more entertainers will be supporting and rewarding kids who help out in their communities.

Music For the (Volunteering) Masses a Big Success

Just a quick refresher - we told you guys about this concert last week - with headliners including musical acts like Akon and Puddle of Mudd.

Well, it turns out that Boost Mobile had a few more surprises for the crowd Friday night!

Busta Rhymes and Spliff Starr showed up and performed a few songs.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (The Hills) also came out to show their support for the volunteers, and Heidi joined host Tracy Morgan on stage to help introduce the acts. I don’t know how many people actually knew who she was (or even cared) because I saw a lot of curious/confused looks when she came on stage.

Music For the (Volunteering) Masses a Big Success

But even though I joke about the audience not knowing who Heidi was, it really was great to see all these celebrities come out to show support for such a great cause.

It was definite that many of the kids RockCorps members look up to people like Common, Juicy J, DJ Paul, and Three 6 Mafia, and to have their idols thanking them for their hard work is something you don’t see often, and will resonate with them.

Not only were all the famous people kind enough to perform backstage, they were all really nice to the press backstage.

They took time out either before or after their performance (and some even both times) to pose for pictures, and talk about why they think the BMRC is important.

There was one universal answer throughout the night from everyone- volunteering and helping the community is important, and it’s necessary to teach these values to people at a young age.

Music For the (Volunteering) Masses a Big Success

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun.

The concert was so awesome– Akon was the best of the night in my opinion. He jumped off the stage and was singing in the crowd…

It was the high energy that kept the crowd pumped and excited until the end of the night.

Personally, there is nothing greater than a celebrity using their star power and influence to support a good cause. And I think the audience members felt the same.

Common, Akon, Tracy Morgan and Others Take Stage in LA June 20th

Posted on 13 June 2008 by xXxTerra

Common, Akon, Three 6 Mafia, Puddle of Mudd and FlyLeaf will be performing on Friday, June 20th at the Gibson Amphitheatre which will also be hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan.

Common

Akon

Tracy Morgan

The concert is organized by Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC) to reward thousands of young people for their service to the Los Angeles community.

BMRC is a national youth action and volunteerism movement started in 2003 to use music to inspire music young people to get involved in community service and positive social change. BRMC gives local youth an opportunity to earn tickets to exclusive concerts in exchange for volunteering. Give 4 hours… Get 1 ticket. As Tracy Morgan would say, “That’s CRAZY!”

Yeah, not bad considering 4 hours of working at McD’s wouldn’t earn you enough for that, if tickets were even available, that is.

Last year, Nas, Korn, The Game, +44, Rise Against and Young Jeezy performed at Kodak.

This year, the program is focused on going “green,” with service projects to improve LA’s “natural habitat,” (or whatever natural stuff that still exists), like rebuilding public parks, planting trees, beach clean-ups and restoring wetlands near the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers. Yes, we have rivers.

Tim McGraw Gives a 9 Year Old Boy the Best B-Day Present Ever!!

Posted on 01 June 2008 by Loretta

Luke Wood’s dream came true at an Oklahoma concert when Tim McGraw called him on stage for a duet.

Tim-McGraw-Concert

Luke, who was at the concert celebrating his 9th birthday, was called on stage to perform “Last Dollar (Fly Away)” with McGraw. Luke’s mom, Kendra Wood, told People magazine that,

My son Luke has been a fan since he was 3 years old and always said that he was going to sing with Tim McGraw someday.

Kendra said,

He made a simple sign, ‘Can I sing with you?’ And brought it with us. I was completely shocked when Tim started singing ‘Last Dollar(Fly Away)’ and motioned for him to come forward. Before I knew it he was whisked on stage, Tim handed him a mic and began singing with Luke.

“I have NO idea how I am going to top this birthday present,” laughed Kendra.

What an honor to sing with one of country music’s greatest!!

Amy Winehouse is coming to the States!

Posted on 28 April 2008 by Loretta

Amy Winehouse is coming to the States!

 Amy-Winehouse

Ticketmaster posted information today on tickets that will go on sale May 4th for a show at the Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley.   I wonder what other venues will be popping up under Amy’s name?  Do I see a summer tour in the works?

 Amy-Winehouse

Recent developments are surprising, since Winehouse (nicknamed “Wino” by many) was recently denied a Visa to enter the States to perform at the 2008 Grammys.  Her torrid drug history and recent criminal activity makes me wonder – should I buy tickets, or play it safe and see what stunt she pulls next?  One thing is for sure, those tickets will go fast – Amy’s bluesy, eclectic tunes are amazing, despite the self-destructivity of her personal life.
