According to johnny-depp.org, this is the first pic of Johnny Depp as ‘The Mad Hatter’ in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

I can not wait for this movie to come out. I am a huge huge Alice in Wonderland fan as well as a fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.

Johnny will be appearing alongside Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Michael Sheen as the Cheshire Cat, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Matt Lucas as Tweedledum/Tweedledee, Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts, Stephen Fry as Humpty Dumpty, and Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar.

The film is written by Linda Woolverton and based on the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland.  It is set to release in theaters on March 5, 2010.

Johnny Depp has been named Cosmopolitan’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive.’  Comes as no surprise since Depp, who is a 45 year-old father of two, gets hotter with every year that passes.

George Clooney, also over 40, came in at a close second, followed by Jake Gyllenhaal in third. “Both George Clooney and Johnny Depp just keep getting better with age,” said Lizzi Hosking from Cosmopolitan.

Other Hollywood hunks that made the list were: Will Smith, David Beckham, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Justin Timberlake, and Christian Bale.

Who’s your pick for Sexiest Man Alive?

It is known that the next installment of the new and improved Batman movies will feature the villain ‘The Riddler,’ but it was not known until now that Johnny Depp was going to be offered the role.

Reports claim a source told the Enquirer,

(Producers) are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny’s a pro. He’ll be able to take direction from director Chris Nolan and still make the character his own.

The same source also claims that producers want Philip Seymour Hoffman to play ‘The Penguin.’

I say AWESOME! I love both actors, and with Christian Bale alongside them, this movie is sure to hit gold yet again.

The Dark Knight has already grossed $440 Million so far worldwide and there is no end in sight. With a huge profit like that, it will be hard for Depp and Hoffman to turn down the roles.

‘The Riddler’ was played on the small screen in the 1960s by funnymen Frank Gorshin and Jim Carrey in the 1995 Batman Forever movie. Hoffman would be stepping into the shoes of former TV and movie Penguins Burgess Meredith and Danny DeVito.

The Daily Star reports that Trojan condoms offered Johnny Depp $10 million to be the face of their company. Depp is a big advocate for safe sex education and they would like him to star in a commercial for the company’s new magnum range. Trojan bosses believe “Rubber Johnny” would not only expand sales in the US but also help inspire an anti-AIDS campaign to send free condoms to third world countries.

Trojan has reportedly thrown around the tagline, “Stand up with Johnny for safer sex.”

A source close to Depp claims he’s interested, “He’s very interested and he’s trying to figure out if he can fit it in.”

Johnny Depp has been asked to replace Heath Ledger in the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the newest Heath film project, due to his untimely, tragic death.

Director Terry Gillimen, hand picked Depp and feels that he will do a great job taking off where Heath left off. Good news is that not all of Heath’s scenes will have to be re-shot. He will still be in the movie.

Will Ferrell has topped the list as the rudest celebrity autograph signer. Apperently, he is very reluctant to stop and sign autograpaphs for his fans, according to Authograph magazine 2007.

And coming in a close second is Spider-Man star, Tobey Maguire.“Tobey has a bit of an attitude, but he will sign,” said Lon Strickler, 49, a Baltimore autograph collector.

On the other hand, for the third year in a row, Johnny Depp has been named the most gracious and approachable star to sign autographs for his fans. He likes to talk to fans and to get to know them as he is signing. And he will sign more than one item for you.

Washington, Dec 6: Angelina Jolie has topped Empireonline.com’s poll of the top ‘100 Sexiest Movie Stars Ever.’

Jolie’s partner, Brad Pitt, came seventh in the poll, wherein more than 20,000 people visted the movie magazines website and cast there votes as to who should be labeled the sexiest movie star.

Some of the movie’s legendary stars were listed such as Marilyn Manroe#14, Clark Gabel #50, Rita Hayworth #59, and Lauren Becall #79.

Current James Bond Daniel Craig led the British group in third position and was also the highest-ranking male, reports Contactmusic.

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp came fifth, while 300 actor Gerard Butler got the tenth spot.

Actress Jessica Alba was named the fourth, Scarlett Johansson the fifth and Bond Girl Eva Green the sixth sexiest movie star.

Other Brits to be named in the top 25 included Keira Knightley, Christian Bale, Kate Winslet, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale and Clive Owen.

What is it with Johnny Depp and Victorian Era serial killers? Six years ago he played London police detective Frederick Abberline in “From Hell,” a violent conspiracy theory-driven whodunnit about the 1888 murder spree of Jack the Ripper. And now in his new musical, Sweeny Todd, he plays the  title role of a man unjustly sent to prison who vows revenge - not only for cruel punishment by the judge, but for the devastating consequences of what happened to his wife and daughter. When he returns to reopen his barber shop, Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street - who’s clients begin to disappear.

Helena Bonham Carter plays the strange Mrs. Lovett - Sweeney’s amorous accomplice. The cast also includes Sacha Baron Cohen - who plays the role of the flamboyant rival barber. Alan Rickman (from the Harry Potter films) portrays the evil Judge, who sends Sweeney to prison.

 When asked what he thought about playing such a dark, passionate figure, Johnny said, “I love the character. He’s super complex because there’s a whole lot going on there. Fifty-one percent of the people say he’s a madman and 49 percent say he’s the original victim in the plot.”

“I belive he’s a victim,” he said. “I believe he’s a tragic figure.”
