Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are featured in this months New York Times Style magazine. In their interview they talk about the first time they met.

Tommy said, “I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her. At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her.”

Katie said she fell completely in love him during their first meeting. “He was so warm, and I thought, ‘Wow, I thought, ‘You can be a superstar and a human being.’”

Katie even told Tommy that her childhood dream was to marry him. His response? “I said I wouldn’t want to disappoint her.” Shortly after their first meeting, he bought her an engagement ring.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were greeted by about 30 Scientology protesters holding posters that said ‘Free Katie’ at her opening night on Broadway.  One protester claimed that they were not there to protest Katie and stated,

We aren’t protesting Katie.  But Scientology is a cult and once you become a member you can’t leave, and we’ve heard that Katie isn’t able to leave because of Tom Cruise.

Another member of the protesters shouted, “It’s evil.  Scientology kills people.  It follows you home at night.  It is perverted.”

Even with the protesters trying to ruin their night Katie put on a great performance.  Tom told the Daily News, “She was extraordinary” and Katie fans that attended the show agreed.  22 year old Alexa Haines told In Touch magazine,

I thought Katie was excellent!  I’ve liked her since Dawson’s Creek, but now she has such stage presence; I never would have known!

I am glad that the protesters didn’t ruin Katie’s performance, but not surprised.  They looked crazier than Tom could ever be.  How can anyone in a hot pink wig be taken seriously.  For a second there I thought Britney lost it again.  What do you  think… Is Tom controlling Katie or are these protesters crazy?

Suri Cruise, 2, was photographed in NY last week still sucking away on a bottle and her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, have been receiving negative comments along with some unwanted advice from fans because of it.

Many of their fans feel that Suri is way too old for a bottle and most pediatricians agree. According to US magazine, Dr. Charlotte Cowan, author of Dr. Hippo, says, “Most pediatricians recommend a bottle should be given up by age 1 - almost certainly by 18 months.”

Well it looks like all that advice is starting to sink in. It appears that Suri has taken the first steps towards making the switch. Katie and Suri were seen leaving a dance lesson in Hollywood yesterday, May 15th, and Suri was carrying both a sippy cup and a bottle.

In my opinion Suri having a bottle really isn’t a big deal. Honestly, what is the difference between a sippy cup and a bottle? To me they are both the same, only a sippy cup doesn’t come with an age limit.

A more suitable story for this picture would have been titled, “A Happy and Healthy Katie Holmes Takes Daughter Suri Shopping in NY,” but, I don’t know if many peeps would be interested in that kind of story. Sippy cups are waaaaaaay more intriguing!

According to InTouch magazine Katie Holmes is just now realizing that she needs a life beyond her husband Tom Cruise.  I don’t know if it’s the fact that her career has pretty much tanked in the three years they’ve been together that’s the fire lit under her cute little behind, but something has gotten to her and the girl feels she has to run!  One can only hope that maybe now she’ll have some life behind her eyes when she is interviewed!

Of course we are only counting the minutes until Tom’s statement is released denying that there is trouble in paradise.

Katie Holmes is the final negotiation stages of making her professional debut on Broadway.

She will star in a revival of Arthur Miller’s dramatic, heart-breaking play, “All My Sons,” a post-World War II family drama. It is hoped that by bringing Holmes in more people will come see the play.

The actress has committed to taking part in a private workshop for the play in May. She will play the part of a woman who visits her former neighbors who are the family of a missing pilot she once loved.

Producer Eric Falkenstein has already cast Broadway veterans John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest.

Holmes has told McBurney and Falkenstein that she is serious about working in the theatre.

Do you think Katie will be any good on Broadway? I remember her in an episode of Dawson’s Creek having to sing at a beauty pageant and she was kinda good. I think she used to take singing lessons when she was younger. I wish her luck, being on that big stage is a big deal. Maybe her performance can bring some of her fame back.

What’s up with this new-all-of-a-sudden-craze of celebs wanting to launch their own clothing lines? Every week there’s somebody new announcing their new line. And even if they’re not creating it they’re promoting it. The newest celeb is Katie Holmes who wants to follow in her friend’s, Victoria Beckham, footsteps.

She’ll be joining Armani to create a collection called ‘Katie Holmes for Armani’ and will be using her daughter Suri as inspiration. The venture – which will be available in stores like Saks and Barneys New York - will kick off with a collection aimed at toddlers for spring 2009.

“Right now this is Katie’s life,” a source close to the Cruises tells OK!. “She is extremely excited about it.”

“The first clothes will all be things she could imagine Suri wearing,” confirms the source.

A collection for older children, a handbag line, and a women’s collection will follow.

Katie Holmes had told her friends that she feels like a “prisoner in my own home” after her husband, Tom Cruise, decided to have a $1.3 million security system installed in their Los Angeles home. A source close to Katie fears fear that she will not have any personal space away from her dominating husband.

“Because of his high profile, his children and his Scientology connections, Tom believes his family is vulnerable to potential kidnappers, stalkers and crazed fans. Katie will barely be able to move around her own home without being monitored by cameras and electrical devices.”

The source added:

“There will be codes and devices that only Tom will have the secret information to operate. It’s incredible how safe this house is now. Katie, who led a carefree life before she met Tom, says it’ll be like a prison. Every move she makes inside or outside their house will be recorded.”

Apparently Katie’s friends were already worried that she doesn’t have enough freedom as it is, but told Now magazine:

“At home she would often go to a bedroom of her own and spend hours there with Suri. Now she says she’ll feel as though there is no escape from Tom’s controlling ways. You can escape the eyes of another person by going to a different part of the house. But [Katie] knows she can’t escape the roving eyes of the cameras that are constantly sweeping the house.”

I feel sorry for the poor girl. I mean this is definitely an example of why we should be careful what we wish for. I don’t think that Katie Holmes had this type of life style in mind when she daydreamed of being Tom’s wife when she was younger.

Ex-scientologist Marc Headly is saying that Tom Cruise held auditions to find his next wife.

Headly, who previously produced promotional videos for the Scientology organization, spoke with Britain’s News of the World about Tom. After Tom’s split with Penelope Cruz in 2004, he apparently was having trouble trying to find the next woman to fill his void. The Scientology group got together to help Cruise out.

They figured that the best way to get some girls was to have a mock casting call for an “upcoming” Cruise movie. There were a few guidelines though, you had to be pretty, single and in your twenties. Tom’s picks: Jennifer Garner, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba, in that order.

Jennifer and Jessica didn’t take the bait, and never showed up at the casting call. But Scarlett did, but the moment that she heard that the meeting was at a Scientology Center, she refused to go.

Being that Katie’s career was slowly drifting downwards after her breakup with Chris Kline, she jumped at the chance to meet her teenage crush. After there first meeting Cruise told Marc, “I knew immediately she was the one.”

Ah, saving the best for last. I think the whole setup was real cheesy, but apparently clever too because Tom got the girl of his dreams. Which we all know from him jumpin’ on Oprah’s couch and all.

The US is going to be slightly less attractive soon as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are moving to France for the birth of their second biological child.

England’s UK Sun has revealed that Angelina is not pregnant with twins as previously rumoured.She is pregnant with another girl and is apparently thrilled. The official story is that they are having the baby in France to honor Anglina’s late French-Canadian mother Marcheline Bertrand. It lame that they’re letting French weenies get first crack at their genetically superior offspring… but whatever.

Yeah… Shiloh is perfect. Blond hair, blue eyes. Hitler would be proud. TomKat will not be outdone by Brangelina’s baby machine. They too are rumored to be expecting. Deja Vu much? Didn’t this already happen two years ago with Suri and Shiloh. The only difference this time around is that no one really cares about TomKat’s baby (not genetically superior as Brangelina’s baby). Sorry, we’ve all seen Suri… not impressed.

Honestly Katie, why would you want another baby after already given birth in COMPLETE SILENCE the first time? Are you insane? Oh wait, you’re a Scientologist so… yes.

Power house singer and soon mom-to-be, Christina Aguilera, has recently signed on to star in a movie with actress Katie Holmes.

The duo will team up for family drama ‘Humboldt Park,’ which begins shooting in February.

A source says, “(Holmes) is trying to prove she can do more than fluffy popcorn movies”, and starring alongside Aguilera “shows she’s willing to take risks”.
