We are deeply saddened and want to pass along our sincere condolences to the entire Kalitta family. Scott shared the same passion for drag racing as his legendary father, Connie. He also shared the same desire to win, becoming a two-time series world champion. O.C. Teen Faces 38 Years in Jail for Changing Grades.

Posted on 20 June 2008 by Loretta

18 year old Omar Khan is facing up to 38 years in prison for changing his grades.

Omar-Khan

Khan, a student at the infamous Tesoro High School (Real Housewives of Orange County) and a resident of Orange County’s most prestige community, Coto de Caza, allegedly broke into his high school on numerous occasions between January and May 2008.

Coto-de-Caza

Prosecutors claim that Khan broke into the school at night using a stolen master key. Khan would then hack into the schools computer system using some of the teachers’ passwords and change his grades along with the grades of 12 other students.

Tesoro-High-School

The list of charges include altering and stealing public records, computer fraud, burglary, identity theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. If convicted on all counts Khan could be sentenced to 38 years in prison.

Real-Housewives-Orange-County

Kind of harsh don’t ya think? After all he is just a high school student that probably didn’t even realize the seriousness of what he was doing. I wonder if the charges would have been lessened or dropped had he been the son of one of the Real Housewives of Orange County? It is obvious that there are two types of justice, the justice that the average Joe receives and celebrity justice.

Speaking of celebrity justice, here are a few examples to refresh your memory…

Nick-Bollea-Hogan

Nick Bollea (son of Hulk Hogan): Crashed his car while driving intoxicated and permanently injured his best friend and passenger. He was charged with reckless driving and sentenced to 8 months in jail and 5 years of probation.

Mischa-Barton

Mischa Barton: DUI, driving without a license, and possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. Micha accepted a plea deal that involved 3 years unsupervised probation, alcohol education classes, and approximately $2000 in fines.

The list of celebrity DUI’s can go on and on with most of them getting off with a slap on the wrist. It amazes me that the punishment for DUI is such a joke, seeing that 17,000 people in the U.S. die from drunk driving accidents every year.

Drunk-Driving-Accident
More crime comparisons:

Did you know that the sentence for a first time child molesting conviction is 5 - 20 years in prison? That is 18 years less than what Khan is facing. And the average sentence for a rapist is 117 months; however, the average time served is 65 months–just a little over 5 years.

So why is this teen facing such a harsh punishment when he didn’t even hurt anyone except himself? I guess this is just another example of how ridiculous great the U.S. Justice system is. Granted he may not get the full 38 years, but doesn’t it seem just a bit over the top that it could even possibly be worth 38 years in prison? Our system is jacked, don’t you think?

Woman Sues Victoria’s Secret for Defective Thong

Posted on 19 June 2008 by HollyGoLightly

In today’s overly litigious society, anyone is susceptible to ridculous lawsuit. Take for instance fifty-two year old Macrida Patterson. Her eye was the unfortunate victim to a “defective” v-string thong. While shopping Victoria’s Secret “ “Sexy Little Things” line Patterson picks up a seemingly innocent pair of underwear when the dastardly “decorative metallic detail” pops off and hits her in the eye.

Victoria’s Secret Thong

The metallic piece apparently damaged her cornea and she had to “miss work for several days.” Her lawyer claims that there is a “design flaw” with the garment and is suing Victoria’s Secret for an undisclosed sum. He’s definately not exaggerating when he states that the accident will be “affecting her for the rest of her life.”

Lawsuit Doc Victoria’s Secret

Uh… yeah. It’s true. She really filed papers in a court of law to petition an actual judge (who by the way has spent years and years studying statutes, pouring over volumes of judicial journals) to hear her case against the sexy lingerie chain. Tsk tsk madame. Tsk tsk. In the words of the wise sage Will Ferrell “That JUST happened!!!” Now move on lady!

Victoria’s Secret Granny panties

We can at least commend Macrida Patterson for one thing, she was looking at appropriate underwear. No granny panties for this fifty-two year old woman. Maybe Paris Hilton can learn something from her elders.

Paris Hilton’s car

Haute couture Paris was outed on her dirty lil’ $3 granny panty “hi-cut” habit when photographers got a shot of the contents of her car. If she doesn’t have sex appeal… what’s she got left? Hey, at least Paris isn’t the one with instigating frivilous lawsuits. She’s a little too classy for that.

Ken Griffy Jr. Hits His 600th Homerun

Posted on 10 June 2008 by Loretta

Cincinnati Reds outfielder, Ken Griffy Jr became the sixth player in baseball history to hit 600 home runs.

Ken-Griffy-Jr-600th-Home-Run

Griffy hit his 600th home run in the top of the first inning at Monday night’s game against the Florida Marlins.  Mark Hendrickson was pitching for the Marlins.  Ken Griffy Jr joins, Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714), Willie Mays (660), and Sammy Sosa (609) as one of baseball’s highest home run hitters.

Ken-Griffy-Jr-600th-Home-Run

However, for one fan the excitement of witnessing a great moment in baseball history didn’t last long.  Baseball fan Justin Kimball claims that he caught Griffy’s 600th home run ball and that another fan stole it from him.  Kimball stated that he had placed the ball in his wool cap and then another fan ripped the hat from his hand and ran off with the ball.  The M.L.B. authenticated one ball for a male fan who would only give his first name, Joe.  Miami police are reviewing the video tape from the home run to see if Kimball is the rightful owner.

Cincinnati-Reds-Fans

That would be upsetting to have a ball like that stolen from you.  Who knows how much a Griffy fan would pay for a little piece of baseball history.

Bill Clinton & Gina Gershon Affair?

Posted on 03 June 2008 by CeCe

In a recent Vanity Fair article entitled “The Comeback Id,” writer Todd Purdum alleges that former President Bill Clinton was “seeing a lot of women on the road” and “running with a fast crowd,” and claims his behavior was getting so out of control that an assistant considered an intervention.

Um… how does Purdum have proof of this? I don’t think a picture will suffice as all the evidence.

Bill Clinton & Gina Gershon Affair?

The article focuses primarily on Clinton’s relationships with women, including actress Gina Gershon, billionaire Belinda Stronach, and a “female friend” in Chappaqua.

Clinton responded by unleashing a “tirade” against the former New York Times reporter, calling him “sleazy,” “dishonest,” “slimy,” and a “scumbag.”

Those are some very choice words, Bill. Almost too angry…are you over-compensating in order to hide your guilt? That would make an amazing story, but I don’t think so. This is just an outrageous claim made by the writer.

Bill Clinton & Gina Gershon Affair?

He also sent out a memo calling the piece “journalism of personal destruction at it’s worst.”

The memo states:

TO: Interested Parties
FROM: Office of President Clinton
RE: Vanity Fair Article on President Clinton
DATE: June 1, 2008

A tawdry, anonymous quote-filled attack piece, published in this month’s Vanity Fair magazine regarding former President Bill Clinton repeats many past attacks on him, ignores much prior positive coverage, includes numerous errors, and ultimately breaks no new ground. It is, in short, journalism of personal destruction at its worst.

Any balanced account of President Clinton’s post-presidency - which other publications have referred to as one of “a great philanthropist;” the face of “the power of philanthropy” and “a major force in fighting the pandemic [HIV/AIDS]” - would recognize that the lion’s share of his work is his multi-million dollar charitable foundation, which works in almost 50 countries around the world. [The Economist, 9/23/06; Fortune Magazine, 9/7/06; The Wall Street Journal, 1/14/04] Vanity Fair, however, has chosen to publish thousands of words on former President Clinton, but to devote only a single paragraph to his enormous charitable accomplishments.

Continue reading the Bill Clinton memo HERE.

Read the entire Vanity Fair article HERE.

Bill Clinton & Gina Gershon Affair?

Gina Gershon…really?? I think that is a bit far-fetched!

Even though we all kinda know Bill is a ‘ladies man’ of sorts I don’t think it went that far.

I wonder if Hillary is upset?

Poor Bill can never catch a break…

Time to Say Goodbye to Bo Diddley

Posted on 02 June 2008 by CeCe

It’s a sad, sad day in the music world.

Bo Diddley, legendary rock and roll singer, songwriter, guitarist and an overall amazing performer has passed away.

Time to Say Goodbye to Bo

He died of heart failure at his home in Florida.  He was 79.

And he said it best about who he was and what he meant to rock and roll, saying “I was the first dude out there.”

He was the pioneering performer known as “The Originator,” whose shuffling rhythm guitar sound can be found in the hits by everyone from Buddy Holly to George Michael.

Time to Say Goodbye to Bo

“Tell everybody you never get too old to rock ‘n’ roll,” Diddley told National Public Radio in 2007.

He woulda been such a cool grandpa I bet.  And dad, brother, uncle…he was just all around cool.

Here’s to you, Bo Diddley!

Kurt Cobain’s Ashes are Stolen

Posted on 02 June 2008 by Loretta

News of the World is reporting that the ashes of legendary Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain have been stolen.

Kurt-Cobain-Nirvana

The Hollywood home of Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, was broken into a couple of weeks ago and Kurt’s ashes along with thousands of dollars worth of cloths and jewelry were reported missing. Courtney was is reportedly suicidal due to her loss and has issued a statement saying,

I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I am suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do.

Courtney-Love-Kurt-Cobain

Creepy Courtney Love kept the ashes in a teddy bear shaped bag along with a lock of Cobain’s hair. She said,

I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again.

Courtney-Love-Frances-Bean

I understand that losing you loved one’s ashes is upsetting, but to think about killing yourself because of it. That’s just wrong. Especially when you have a child. Courtney needs to stop being so selfish and start thinking about her daughter.

50 Cent’s Long Island Home Burns Down

Posted on 02 June 2008 by Loretta

50-Cent-House-BurnsThe Long Island home that 50 Cent (real name is Curtis Jackson) and his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins have been battling over has burned to the ground under very suspicious cirmcumstances. The fire broke out around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30th and completely gutted the home.

Tompkins, her two children (one of which Jackson is the father), her sister, aunt, and cousin were all in the house when the fire started. Tompkins was awake caring for Curtis Jackson’s son, Marquise, when she heard50-Cent-House-Burns something crash through the living room window.

Tompkins stated that, “around 4am someone threw a [molotov] cocktail in my house. I yelled, ‘Let’s get out of here, we have to go there’s a fire.”

They had to climbe out a second story window because the stairway was blocked by the flames. And all six people were treated for smoke inhalation.

A Dix Hills Fire Chief said that because of how fast the fire spread, “there is a strong- a strong, strong possibility that [the fire] is suspicious.”

50-Cent-House-Burns

Tompkins herself believes that Jackson is responsible for the fire. Stating,

Who do you think did it? Curtis Jackson. He threatened me on Monday that he was going to have someone visit me. My kids are in the house. Who would try to kill your own child? He’s supposed to be all about being a gangster… that’s not a gangster, that’s a coward.

50-Cent-House-Burns50 Cent had won the right to evict Tompkins in April, but Tompkins sued him for breach of contract in May and a Manhattan judge put a hold on the eviction pending a future hearing.

Paul Catsandonis, Tompkins’ lawyer, stated that the fight for the house had become “extremely, extremely, contentious.” Catsandonis also stated that there was an “extremely dangerous incident” at his Manhattan office last Monday during Jackson’s deposition.

50-Cent-House

50 Cent’s lawyer, Brett Kimmel said, “Any suggestion that Mr. Jackson had anything whatsoever to do with the fire at his home is outrageous and offensive.”

Arson investigators were sent to the scene but said that it is too early in the investigation to say whether or not the fire was set deliberately.

Tompkins said, “I’m going to fight him to the end. This gives me more of a drive. I’m more determined than ever.”
