Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were greeted by about 30 Scientology protesters holding posters that said ‘Free Katie’ at her opening night on Broadway. One protester claimed that they were not there to protest Katie and stated,
We aren’t protesting Katie. But Scientology is a cult and once you become a member you can’t leave, and we’ve heard that Katie isn’t able to leave because of Tom Cruise.
Another member of the protesters shouted, “It’s evil. Scientology kills people. It follows you home at night. It is perverted.”
Even with the protesters trying to ruin their night Katie put on a great performance. Tom told the Daily News, “She was extraordinary” and Katie fans that attended the show agreed. 22 year old Alexa Haines told In Touch magazine,
I thought Katie was excellent! I’ve liked her since Dawson’s Creek, but now she has such stage presence; I never would have known!
I am glad that the protesters didn’t ruin Katie’s performance, but not surprised. They looked crazier than Tom could ever be. How can anyone in a hot pink wig be taken seriously. For a second there I thought Britney lost it again. What do you think… Is Tom controlling Katie or are these protesters crazy?
Angelina Jolie may be taking over Tom Cruise’s role in the new spy thriller, “Edwin A. Salt.”
The part of a CIA agent that must prove he is not a Russian sleeper spy out to assassinate the president was originally intended for Tom Cruise, but he decided not to take it. Then when they heard that Angelina was interested, the studio had screenwriter Kurt Wimmer rewrite the role for a woman. The movie’s title will also change, but Phillip Noyce will remain as director.
It didn’t take Jolie long to get back to work. She just gave birth to twins, Vivienne and Knox, on July 13th and already has two movies in the works. She is set to star in the drama “Atlas Shrugged” and is negotiations with “Edwin A. Salt.” A role that I think will be better played by Jolie.
According to Dr. Drew Pinskey (celebrity rehab) Tom Cruise may be suffering from some sort of mental illness.
Dr. Drew stated that,
A lot of people in the public eye, who behave strangely have mental illness we can learn from, and much of it based on childhood trauma, without doubt. Take a guy like Tom Cruise. Why would somebody be drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology? To me, thats a function of a very deep emptiness and suggest serious neglect in childhood-maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect.
Tom Cruise’s lawyer responded by saying that Pinsky is an “unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety. The last time we heard garbage like this was from Joseph Goebbels.”
Dr Drew’s rep responded with, “Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful.”
Tom’s lawyer said that Pinsky is a “posturing flake” who “pretends to diagnose people he’s never met.”
Drew’s rep said,
Although Mr. Field’s intent is clearly to slander and discredit Dr. Drew, under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand. Again Dr. Drew meant no harm.
So does this mean that all of the 55,000 reported Scientologists in the U.S. are suffering from mental illness or just the ones that jump on couches when they get excited? Tell me what you think, is Tom Cruise mentally ill?
Suri Cruise, 2, was photographed in NY last week still sucking away on a bottle and her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, have been receiving negative comments along with some unwanted advice from fans because of it.
Many of their fans feel that Suri is way too old for a bottle and most pediatricians agree. According to US magazine, Dr. Charlotte Cowan, author of Dr. Hippo, says, “Most pediatricians recommend a bottle should be given up by age 1 - almost certainly by 18 months.”
Well it looks like all that advice is starting to sink in. It appears that Suri has taken the first steps towards making the switch. Katie and Suri were seen leaving a dance lesson in Hollywood yesterday, May 15th, and Suri was carrying both a sippy cup and a bottle.
In my opinion Suri having a bottle really isn’t a big deal. Honestly, what is the difference between a sippy cup and a bottle? To me they are both the same, only a sippy cup doesn’t come with an age limit.
A more suitable story for this picture would have been titled, “A Happy and Healthy Katie Holmes Takes Daughter Suri Shopping in NY,” but, I don’t know if many peeps would be interested in that kind of story. Sippy cups are waaaaaaay more intriguing!

Nearly two years after his infamous couch jumping incident, Tom Cruise returns to The Oprah Winfrey Show. (Note to Oprah: bolt down your furniture.)
It will be a two-part show, one airing on May 2 and the other on May 5. The two-part taping will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Cruise’s first break-out movie performance in Risky Business.
The first part will be Oprah’s interview with Cruise at his home in Telluride, Colo. which will cover his “family, his life and the future,” Harpo said.
The second part will be taped in the studio were video messages from Cruise’s friends and colleagues honoring his work in the movie industry, will be shown.
Connor Cruise, the 13-year-old adopted son of Tom Cruise and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, is already taking a stab at an acting career.Connor has a minor, non-speaking part in the upcoming Will Smith drama “Seven Pounds,” a spokesman for Columbia Pictures confirmed Tuesday. He shot his part, over two days, more than a month ago, playing Smith as a young man and mostly shown in photographs. Even with such famous acting mentors in his corner, Connor had to audition for the part. So since his famous mom and dad didn’t have anything to do with him getting the part it means he must be talented, right? I sure hope so.
“Tom is so proud of Connor,” says a source. “He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.”
The movie, which is still in production, co-stars Rosario Dawson and is directed by “The Pursuit of Happyness” filmmaker Gabriele Muccino. The drama follows the story of a man who affects the lives of seven strangers.Even though this is really cute, I like the father-son team of Will and Jaden Smith more. Am I alone in this opinion? Help me out here, people!
Tom Cruise is a little perturbed that there is a strain of medical marijuana that has been nicknamed in his honor. The weed dubbed “Tom Cruise Purple” on the streets, is supposedly so potent that it makes you hallucinate. Although by the sound of the drug you would think that it would make you strip down to your skimpies and bust out singing “Old Time Rock n’Roll.”Cruise, who has been admittedly vocal about his views on prescription drugs, is not flattered at all by the drug’s nickname and he wants his legal team to take some action immediately.
I wonder if the marijuana wasn’t medical, if Tom would feel better about the name. I mean there must be some logic behind it. Anyways, there is nothing he nor his lawyers can do about changing the name. People are going to call it whatever they want. This is the price he is paying for being famous.
Katie Holmes had told her friends that she feels like a “prisoner in my own home” after her husband, Tom Cruise, decided to have a $1.3 million security system installed in their Los Angeles home. A source close to Katie fears fear that she will not have any personal space away from her dominating husband.
“Because of his high profile, his children and his Scientology connections, Tom believes his family is vulnerable to potential kidnappers, stalkers and crazed fans. Katie will barely be able to move around her own home without being monitored by cameras and electrical devices.”
The source added:
“There will be codes and devices that only Tom will have the secret information to operate. It’s incredible how safe this house is now. Katie, who led a carefree life before she met Tom, says it’ll be like a prison. Every move she makes inside or outside their house will be recorded.”
Apparently Katie’s friends were already worried that she doesn’t have enough freedom as it is, but told Now magazine:
“At home she would often go to a bedroom of her own and spend hours there with Suri. Now she says she’ll feel as though there is no escape from Tom’s controlling ways. You can escape the eyes of another person by going to a different part of the house. But [Katie] knows she can’t escape the roving eyes of the cameras that are constantly sweeping the house.”
I feel sorry for the poor girl. I mean this is definitely an example of why we should be careful what we wish for. I don’t think that Katie Holmes had this type of life style in mind when she daydreamed of being Tom’s wife when she was younger.
