Tori Spelling wants to be part of the 90210 spinoff

Tori Spelling talks about 90210 spinoff

The CW is in talks about making a spinoff from the widely popular 90’s tv show Beverly Hills 90210.

“Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas is wanted to pen the project, which has been put on the fast track by the network. The spinoff would bring Thomas back to CW, where his acclaimed series “Veronica Mars” ended its three-year run last spring.

This would be the second spinoff from “90210,” which aired on Fox from 1990-2000. The first spinoff, “Melrose Place,” had a successful seven-year run on Fox.

Tori Spelling, the daughter of the show’s creater and who also played Donna Martin in the series, said, “My dad always wanted to do a new version of 90210, so I’m sure he will be beaming from above! …and I’d love to somehow be a part of it. That, as well, would make my dad proud,” Spelling, who is pregnant with her second child.

And, regarding the role she intends to play, Tori explains: “Well, I am a mom now, proud to say, but obviously too young to have a teenager, so maybe I could be one of the main character’s young stepmom.  Playing the funny sex ed teacher at the high school would be funny, too, considering Donna Martin was America’s most infamous virgin.”

“The show was a huge part of my life. Ten years! I miss it dearly.”

“I thought … it’s about time,” Spelling tells People.com. “I’m surprised it took this long for them to make a 90210 spinoff.”

Tori is not the only one eager to get involved with this show. Actor Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders in 90210, also wants to a role on the series.

Tori Spelling writes a tell-all autobiography

Tori Spelling is writing a tell-all autobiography. That means that for you 90210 fans that she will be dishing about her co-stars and life on the set.

People magazine has some excerpts from the book:

On Shannon Doherty:

Shannen had everything, but she could be arrogant and carefree. Jennie [Garth] was outspoken when she thought Shannen was out of line. Sometimes they got along, but there were explosions. Once they got into a fistfight.

A night with [Shannen] meant going to the hottest club and drinking until the early hours. I knew she was a ‘bad influence,’ but I liked her anyway.”

On real-life crush, Brian Austin Green:

“I had an insta-crush on Brian Austin Green. Brian was the only guy on the show my age. We had something going over the years we worked together. We were always fighting, making up, having fun and hating each other. We were just young.”

On Luke Perry:

As for Luke Perry, he called me ‘Camel’ because I had long eyelashes. Trust me, Luke Perry can call you ‘Camel’ and make it sexy.”
