Caroline Cossey, who played Tula, an extra in the 1981 James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only.  Yes, it’s true, she was technically a dude!

Caroline was born Barry Cossey in England on August 31, 1954. However, he suffered from Klinefelter’s Syndrome, which meant he had xxxy chromosomes instead of just xx or xy, making him a little female.

At the age of 17, Barry decided to become Caroline, starting hormone therapy and beginning a career as a showgirl.  Shortly after, she underwent breast augmentation and became a topless dancer.  On December 31, 1974, Cossey had sex reassignment surgery and made his transition from male to female complete.

Once Cossey was a complete woman, she started working as a model and commercial actress.  In 1981, she landed the role of Tula in For Your Eyes Only and fulfilled her childhood dream of being a ‘Bond Girl.’  That same year, Caroline posed for Playboy; however, her career ended abruptly when News of the World revealed that she was transgender.

Even after gaining sympathy from the press after the release of her autobiography, I Am a Woman, her career was unable to recover.

Before beloved Julia Child became a world renown chef she surprisingly used to be a spy. I know… seems pretty far fetched, right?

She worked as a spy in the Office of Strategic Services-the precursor to the CIA-during World War II. The government has recently released Child’s secret files and leaked the names of 24,000 other OSS spies, such as Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, major league catcher Moe Berg, historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr., film actor Sterling Hayden, John Hemingway (oldest son of Ernest Hemingway), and Miles Copeland (father of the Stewart Copeland, drummer of the Police).

At 28 years-old, Child worked as an advertising manager at W&J Sloane furniture store in Beverly Hills. Child clashed with new store managers and decided that it was time to leave.

“I made a tactical error and was out,” she explained in a handwritten note attached to her application to join the Office of Strategic Services, a World War II-era spy agency. “However, I learned a lot about advertising and wish I had been older and more experienced so that I could have handled the situation, as it was a most interesting position.”

She was hired in the summer of 1942 for clerical work with the intelligence agency and later worked directly for OSS Director William Donovan, the personnel records show.

The release of the OSS personnel files unmasks one of the last secrets from the short-lived wartime intelligence agency, which was first created by President Franklin Roosevelt and later folded into the CIA after President Truman disbanded it in 1945.

“I think it’s terrific,” said Elizabeth McIntosh, 93, a former OSS agent now living in Woodbridge, Va. “They’ve finally, after all these years, they’ve gotten the names out. All of these people had been told never to mention they were with the OSS.”

These 750,000 newly exposed documents will provide new information even for those most familiar with the agency. It was once thought that only 13,000 people were part of the OSS but the files have claimed that there were at least 24,000 employees.

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dryer claim that they have found the body of Bigfoot. The pair claim that they stumbled across the 500 pound 7 foot 7 inch creature during a hike in Northern Georgia last June.

In a press conference that was held on Friday, August 15th, the pair presented some less than convincing DNA evidence and pictures of their discovery.

The evidence presented was a photocopy of an email from the University of Minnesota that reported 3 DNA sequences. One sequence was inconclusive, on was human, and one was DNA from a possum. According to Tom Biscardi, CEO of Menlo Park’s Searching for Bigfoot Inc., Bigfoot’s body remains at an undisclosed location and will undergo further DNA testing and a necrospy will be performed.

From what I have seen and heard, I would have to say this is just another hoax and Whitton and Dryer’s 5 minutes of fame will be over soon. What do you think?

According to an interview with House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN, Matthew McConaughey has saved the placenta from Levi’s birth and plans on planting it in his yard.

McConaughey said,

It’s going to be in the orchards, and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit. When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river…and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength. This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it. It was gorgeous.

Now, I have heard some crazy things come out of the mouths of celebrities, but this one really takes the cake. Who (not belonging to an aboriginal tribe) uses their child’s placenta as fertilizer? However, I would like to try a piece of that fruit….just to see if the placenta makes a difference.

A “Not So Blind Item” posted on Perezhilton.com has led to rumors that Kathlyn Beatty, daughter of Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, is now living life as a transgender boy.

According to Perez Hilton the teenage celebrity spawn is, “Now going by the name of Stephen” and “the teen’s parents pulled him out of the prestigious Buckley School in Los Angeles and are having him home-schooled to keep him out of the public eye.”

Since Hilton failed to mention any names, readers have begun posting comments naming a few possibilities themselves.  Some of the possibilities mentioned are;  One of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughters, Nicole Kidman’s and Tom Cruise’s adopted daughter, and Taylor Ann Hasselhoff, daughter of David Hasselhoff.  However, Taylor Ann Hasselhoff and Kathlyn Beatty are the only ones mentioned that have attended the Buckley School and since Taylor Ann is already in college she does not fit Perez Hilton’s description.  Leaving us with Kathlyn Beatty, who just finished up 10th grade at Buckley.

Thomas Beatie, a.k.a. the “Pregnant Man,” has finally given birth to a girl! In case you have been under a rock for the last 6 months, Thomas Beatie is a female to male trans gender. He had his breasts removed and began taking male hormones years ago, but opted to keep his female reproductive organs.

“I feel it’s not a male or female desire to have a child,” he told Oprah Winfrey.
“It’s a human need. I’m a person and I have the right to have a biological child.”

According to a source, Thomas had his baby naturally and earlier rumors of a planned Cesarean were false.

Wonder how much the magazines are going to pony up for the first shots…

Several of the girls involved and Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk are denying the rumors of a pregnancy pact.

After a meeting with local city and school officials, Carolyn Kirk stated, “any planned blood-oath bond to become pregnant-there is absolutely no evidence.”  And one of the pregnant teens involved, 17 year old Lindsey Oliver, told Good Morning America that,

There is definitely no pact.  There was a group of girls already pregnant that decided they were going to help each other to finish school and raise their kids together.  I think it was just a coincidence.

However, fellow high school students and resident of Gloucester are having a hard time believing that the denial is true.  Annette Dion, a 45 year old resident, said, “I don’t think we heard the truth today.  This is a tragedy, very upsetting, and when the mayor won’t answer questions it infuriates us even more.”

High school student Nick Francis, who is in the same class as three of the pregnant teens, said that the pregnancy pact was common knowledge.  And 15 year old Nicole Mitchell made a statement regarding two of the girls saying, “They were best friends.  They wanted to raise their kids together so they could be best friends too.”

Just because they talked about raising their kids together doesn’t mean they made a pregnancy pact.  I know when I was in high school my girlfriends and I always talked about how we would be neighbors and raise our kids together.  Although 17 pregnant teens is a little to many to be coincidental.

With only four weeks left until he gives birth, Thomas Beatie does an interview with News of the World.

The world’s first pregnant man talks about his pregnancy, getting ready for the birth of his daughter, and having more children. Here is a little excerpt from the interview.

On being pregnant: Everything has been excellent. I have been so lucky. I didn’t have any discomfort or ailments. In fact when I found out I was pregnant I went online and read how a lot of women suffer back pain but I haven’t had any. It has been remarkably easy.

Do you think that the fact that he doesn’t have any breast contributed to the lack of back pain? Most pregnant women’s breast greatly increase with pregnancy and all the extra weight can cause back pain. I guess that is just one benefit of being a pregnant man.

On preparing for his daughter: I’m 36 weeks now and almost due. I feel fantastic. Every day Nancy and I think about how we just cannot wait to hold our daughter for the first time, to finally touch her and see her face. We have her nursery ready and her diapers are lined up in her bedroom. Everything is ready to go. We have even picked a name which we are both love - although we’re waiting until she is born before we tell anyone.

On having more children: All the people who really know us an love us, our family and family, have been incredibly supportive. So much so we might even have more children. We will just see what the experience is like with our daughter’s arrival first and then give it some thought.

I wonder how much money the first photo of a child born from a man gets? I know it wont even be close to what the Jolie-Pitt twins first pics will get, but I am sure it will be a pretty good chunk of change.

Pregnant man Thomas Beatie has decided to write a memoir.

Beatie’s memoir, titled Love Makes a Family: A Memoir of Hardship, Healing, and Extraordinary Pregnancy, is schedule to be released on September 30, 2008. In his memoir, Beatie talks about female-to-male gender reassignment surgery and his experiences as a pregnant man.

Beatie maintains that being pregnant doesn’t make him any less of a man. In a recent interview on Oprah, Beatie said,

It doesn’t make me want to go and shave my legs or something. I’m a man, I just happen to be a pregnant man.

Beatie is due to deliver his baby on July 3, via ceaseran.

Transsexual Thomas Beatie isn’t going to let a pregnancy keep him from doing his manly chores.

Even though Thomas Beatie is just weeks away from giving birth, he was recently spotted trimming the grass at his Bend, Oregon home.

Thomas made headlines a couple of months ago for being the first recognized pregnant man. Born a woman, Thomas decided to undergo sex reassignment surgery when he was in his twenties, but chose to keep his reproductive organs. He stated in an interview earlier this year that, “Wanting to have a biological child is neither a male nor female desire, but a human desire.”

Thomas Beatie’e baby girl is due to be born on July 3 via cesarean.

Odd side note: notice that he still has a beard even though he hasn’t been taking testosterone for months now…I found that intriguing…maybe you will too!
