John Travolta’s 16 year old son, Jett, died after having a seizure on Friday, January 2nd. Jett, who has a history of seizures, was on vacation with his family in the Bahama’s when the seizure occurred.
Jett is the oldest of John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s two children; they have a daughter, Ella, who is 8 years old. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Travolta family. Read the full story at omg.com.

Update: The family released a statement on Sunday indicating that Jett hit his head on the bathtub during his seizure. An autopsy has been perfomred, but the report has not yet been released. Police said that a house caretaker came upon Jett unconscious in the bathroom and attempted to revive him. Read more at ABC.com
A message on John Travolta’s website says, “Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives.”

Very sad. Shows how much more money and work we still have to do in the field of epilepsy. People need to open up their wallets and help us researchers find a cure. It is serious and it’s about time people start taking it seriously. How sad and how so preventable. Please support the Epilepsy Foundation. What a beautiful child is gone. How many more do we have to lose before people realize that everyone needs to help.

Here’s where to help with the Epilepsy Foundation (http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/howtohelp/ ). This is the most trusted name in the field and supports the absolute best scientists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons. Please make a donation to find better cures. I am not affiliated with the organization but know of how much of an impact they have made to make people’s lives better. Please give.

Epilepsy? Wait just a damn minute, dude. This was not epilepsy. He had the kawasaki syndrome. Completely different thing. I DO agree with you about finding a cure for it, though.
