Once upon a time, celebrities relied on publicists to bail them out of a jam. Following a PR nightmare, they’d remain mum, sit back, and let the professionals do the talking.

But now that celebrities (along with the rest of us) have multiple social media platforms at their fingertips, they often thoughtlessly tweet without all the facts, share an ignorant comment that would be better left unsaid, or try and do their own PR cleanup... and fail miserably. Instant regret follows, then the tweet disappears minutes later.
