Nearly 500,000 people have given Jay-Z's latest track "Open Letter" a listen in the last 24 hours and it appears some of those downloads came from the White House.
In the song, Jay-Z claimed that Barack Obama gave him and Beyonce clearance for their controversial trip to Cuba and even implied that the POTUS pulled some shady business to get them the all-clear. "Boy from the hood/ I got White House clearance... Obama said, 'Chill you gonna get me impeached/ You don’t need this s**t anyway, chill with me on the beach,'" rhymes Jay. It's one of the few times a rap song made it to CNN because a White House spokesperson responded by slamming the lyrics as completely untrue.
