There’s another horrifying headline in the news this week ― an event that’s meant to celebrate the human body and spirit turned into the scene of a tragedy when bombs went off, killing three and seriously injuring dozens of others.
As tends to happen in such moments, rumors are flying and debates are stirring long before we know much about who is to blame or what the motive for such an attack could possibly be. It’s a time to extend sympathy to the victims, many who lost limbs in the blast, and mourn those who didn’t survive at all. It’s a time to think about human nature and wonder if anything can be done about these violent acts. But it’s also a time to come together, count our blessings for what we haven’t lost, and remember that the homicidal acts of one person or a small group don’t outweigh all the good things people have done ― and are doing, and will continue to do ― in the wake of the tragedy in Boston.
As you’ve surely noticed ― this week, and probably even before ― Bostonians have a ton of pride stemming from their strength, individuality, and sense of community. In a tough time, it’s important to remember how resilient and unique this city is, so we’re sharing some our favorite entertainment-related moments that celebrate the very best of Boston.
