Demi Lovato is looking to reach a wider pop audience than ever on her new album Demi, her first album since her stint on The X Factor exposed her to tons of fans outside those diehard Lovatics.
And if you’re going for broad appeal, it’s hard to go wrong with a song that name-drops the good ol’ U.S. of A. Because, after all, who doesn’t love a patriotic pop song? Traitors, that’s who!
Demi’s “Made in the USA” will be her second single, following “Heart Attack,” just in time to be the BBQ anthem for this year’s 4th of July. But does the track even make any sense? Or is it just an empty-headed attempt at shameless patriotism? If that’s the case, it certainly wouldn’t be the first pop song to randomly reference the United States in hopes of going down easy with the masses.
Hear the song after the jump!
