Nobody likes it when someone is constantly on their phone during a movie, even if it is Madonna who’s the culprit. The star was at the New Yorker Film Festival, screening the movie 12 Years a Slave at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema when she got called out for paying more attention to her phone than the movie, a very big no-no for the theatre that has a very strict “no texting, no talking” policy.
According to film critic Charles Taylor, Madonna was sitting next to Jason Ritter, J. Alexander from America’s Next Top Model and Michael K. Williams from The Wire during the film that’s revolved around slavery. When she wouldn’t put away her Blackberry, a movie goer behind her, who had no idea that it was Madonna, tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to put her phone away. The star’s response?
