Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj have always been fearless when it comes to their hairstyles, both often rocking wild and crazy colors and ‘dos. In fact, both gals have tried out an Egyptian wig, leaving us wonder one thing: who rocked the look the best?
Lorde chatted with Interviewabout the two stars and had this to say: “Around the middle of last year I started listening to a lot of rap, like Nicki Minaj and Drake, as well as pop singers like Lana Del Rey. They all sing about such opulence, stuff that just didn’t relate to me – or anyone that I knew. I began thinking, ‘How are we listening to this? It’s completely irrelevant.’”
A huge superstar diva like Mariah Carey at the American Idol judge's table was supposed to help the show's ratings. Having her sit next to a fresher, more current diva like Nicki Minaj, and getting into catfights, made Season 12 look even more promising.
Unfortunately, despite Fox's best efforts, the show faced some of its lowest ratings yet this year... and now, after all the rumors, it's official that Mariah and Nicki won't be returning for another season.
Some of your favorite past American Idolcontestants may be on the other side of the judging table next season.
After the show spent $40 million this past season to grab the biggest stars they could find (and watched it blow up in their face), the show is taking a different approach: bringing back old favorites that viewers have a vested interest in. Although no names have officially been confirmed, it's been reported that Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson are on board as judges for next season!
Who else is being approached for the remaining positions? Find out after the jump!
The next season of American Idol will feature an entirely new judging panel.
All four judges are exiting the show next season, with sources close to the program confirming that Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson will not be coming back this fall. Fox is presenting its new fall lineup to advertisers today in NYC and is expected to officially announce the bold move then.
