    Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson may be calling their marriage quits, but Wentz had nothing but nice things to say about his soon-to-be ex-wife on Ryan Seacrest’s KISS FM radio show.

    When asked about his relationship with Simpson he said, "Ashlee's been my best friend for five years. She's the mother of my child. I have nothing but love and respect for her."

    Now, the former Fall Out Boy band member is even more shocked as the news develops that Simpson has reportedly already moved on - with a recording artist on Pete's label and one of his good friends, Craig Owens!

    Ashlee Simpson didn't actually think she would just walk away from her marriage to Pete Wentz with her son and Pete not put up a fight... did she??

    Now it appears a custody battle between the two may be on the horizon. Pete has filed his own divorce papers with the court and he is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son Bronx Mowgli. In Ashlee's papers, she was asking for sole physical custody of Bronx.

    Pete filed his papers on March 7th and is also requesting that both he and Ashlee be responsible for their own legal fees.

    This is sooo SAD!! Pete Wentz was completely blindsided by Ashlee Simpson filing for divorce. The rocker didn't want to get divorced from Ashlee and was even making plans for Valentine's Day.

    Just a few days before Ashlee filed divorce papers with the LA County Superior Court, Pete spoke with Radaronline about his plans for Valentine's Day, saying, "I guess I've got to make them not online... this will be a surprise."

    Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz have decided to call it quits. After being married for 2 1/2 years, Ashlee has filed for divorce.

    In the documents filed with the LA Superior Court, Ashlee is seeking spousal support and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce.
