After more than 16 years on the air, Joy Behar will no longer be offering her view.

The View co-host has announced that she will step down at the end of the current season in August. ABC released a statement wishing Joy “all the best in this next chapter, and [we] are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season.”

Legendary comedian Phyllis Diller died in her sleep yesterday at her Los Angeles home. She was 95 years old.

So why should you know who she is? Before she retired in 2002, she had a comedy career that spanned for over 55 years. And her outrageous appearance, coupled with her ability to churn out as many 12 punchlines per minute on stage, helped pave the way for women in comedy and entertainment in general.
