It used to be, there was a huge difference between the Emmys and the Oscars and the Grammys and the Tonys. Actors and artists pretty much stuck to what they were good at, with only a few notable exceptions. You won’t often see the same person win a Grammy and an Oscar ― except Adele, because she wins everything ― but when it comes to the Tonys, there's more and more overlap these days. Since Broadway has, as they say, “gone Hollywood,” the most recent list of nominees for the honor could easily be confused for some kind of film awards show.
