Common, Akon, Three 6 Mafia, Puddle of Mudd and FlyLeaf will be performing on Friday, June 20th at the Gibson Amphitheatre which will also be hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan.
The concert is organized by Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC) to reward thousands of young people for their service to the Los Angeles community.
BMRC is a national youth action and volunteerism movement started in 2003 to use music to inspire music young people to get involved in community service and positive social change. BRMC gives local youth an opportunity to earn tickets to exclusive concerts in exchange for volunteering. Give 4 hours… Get 1 ticket. As Tracy Morgan would say, “That’s CRAZY!”
Yeah, not bad considering 4 hours of working at McD’s wouldn’t earn you enough for that, if tickets were even available, that is.
Last year, Nas, Korn, The Game, +44, Rise Against and Young Jeezy performed at Kodak.

This year, the program is focused on going “green,” with service projects to improve LA’s “natural habitat,” (or whatever natural stuff that still exists), like rebuilding public parks, planting trees, beach clean-ups and restoring wetlands near the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers. Yes, we have rivers.
