Belles of the Ball... and the Blahs

Everyone's been talking about it... the dress. You know which one. The one Michelle Obama wore to the inaugurations by designer Jason Wu. Frankly, I'm not a fan--it looks like a bad bridal gown or an old tacky curtain. Not to mention, the style is not flattering to her body type. To quote a friend, "she looks like a dude in a dress." I know, pretty harsh, but the bustline just made her look flat-chested and her super toned arms and shoulders didn't help the situation.

But the brightest and loveliest Bell of the Ball was without a doubt Jill Biden, who looked stunning in her eye-catching red strapless dress by Lebanese designer Reem Acra.

Some other inaugural highlights:

Can't forget the fails:

Spread your wings and fly, Faith!

She nearly had a wardrobe malfunction in this dress. I don't think Mariah or her stylist considered that she would probably have to move and breathe while wearing it.

Yes, the dress did a great job hiding her large hips and thighs, but the front, bottom portion looked like she was wearing a matching black apron.

Cher and her outfit look lifeless. And yes, that is the same tux jacket worn by Jiminy Cricket.

Rachel Lee Cook just looks miserable.

Lay off her, Terri McMillan didn't have time to change after attending a Japanese wedding. Mary J. Blige looked great, however.

Get Kerry Washington a band hat and baton... she's heading the Obama Inauguration Parade!

Rihanna's much too short and low cut mustard dress is hideous and innappropriate. I don't think the Obamas would approve either.

This one just leaves me speechless.
