Jessica Simpson on the Cover of Elle
Country-music's new pop-singer Jessica Simpson tries hard to look the part on the new issue of Elle magazine, wearing a plaid shirt, fitted blue jeans, and huge belt buckle, which hits newsstands August 11.
On whether or not she was ever physically abused:
"I don't want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."

On the period of her life following her 2005 split from ex-husband Nick Lachey:
