Michelle Obama Lands Herself On March's Vogue Cover

First Lady Michelle Obabma will be featured on the March 2009 issue of Vogue magazine.
While Vogue features first lady's in their issue, this is only the second time that they have placed her on their cover (the other was Hilary Rodham Clinton).
The photo was taken by Annie Leibovitz and Michelle is wearing a magenta dress designed by Jason Wu- who has also designed her Inaugural Ball dresses.
For the rest of the photo shoot, Michelle picked out her own outfits from her closet including her standard favorites of Narciso Rodriguez and J. Crew. Michelle Obama has definitely become a fashion icon. Although I am like 10+ years younger, I would wear some of her clothes. She has great style and looks great in these photos.

Here is part of her interview:
On her upbringing: "We learned in our household that there was nothing you couldn't talk about and that you found humor in even some of the toughest times. I want to bring that spirit of warmth, openness, and stability to my task."
On daughters Sasha and Malia: "I'm going to try to take them to school every morning, as much as I can. But there's also a measure of independence. And obviously there will be times I won't be able to drop them off at all. I like to be a presence in my kids' school. I want to know the teachers; I want to know the other parents."
On entertaining in the White House: "We want entertaining in the White House to feel like America, that we are reminded of all the many facets of our culture. The Latino community, the Asian-American community, the African-American community.…Hip-hop, spoken word—we want to bring the youth in, for them to hear their voices in this."
On Election Night: "I was proud as a wife, amazed as a citizen. I felt a sense of relief, a sense of calm, that the country I lived in was the country I thought I lived in."
On fashion: "I love clothes. First and foremost, I wear what I love. That's what women have to focus on: what makes them happy and what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful."
On criticism of her fashion choices: "I'm not going to pretend that I don't care about it. But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear — people just have different tastes."
