Sharon Stone Dropped from Dior Ads Due to China Comment

Sharon Stone Apologizes For China’s Earthquake Comment

French fashion house, Christian Dior, has dropped Sharon Stone from it's Chinese advertisements since the comment she made on the Cannes red carpet last week. To recap: she insinuated that China's recent earthquake, which killed approximately 68,000 people, was due to karma for it's treatment of Tibet.

Stone said on the red carpet:

“I’m not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?”

Stone has recently issued an apology stating:

“Due to my inappropriate words and acts during the interview, I feel deeply sorry and sad about hurting Chinese people,” the actress said in the statement. “I am willing to take part in the relief work of China’s earthquake, and wholly devote myself to helping affected Chinese people.”

Stupid woman. Was hurricane Katrina karma too? Although I believe in karma to some extent, there are times when you just have to blame it on Mother Nature.
