What's Aniki?

Posted on February 11, 2009 - 9:45pm by terra I heard this word a few times, but never really knew what it was all about.  Technically, it means "elder brother" in Japanese, but that's not what people were talking about, so anyway...  After recently seeing Michael Copon at an event in Hollywood and complimenting him on his outfit, I learned that Aniki is a new clothing company.  As the name implies, the style is Asian inspired.  It's become a new celebrity favorite.

We got in touch with the man behind the name, Mike Nehoray, CEO of Aniki Denim.  After a rough patch in his young adult life, Mike got his life in order and started Aniki with the help of his older brother.  Hence, "Aniki," in honor of his older brother and other life mentors.  Mike's come a long way with his business since its start in 2002--his jeans were a very hot commodity at a Grammy gifting suite.
