Celebrities and product placement go hand in hand. What better time and place to give away and promote your products to the stars than just before the Oscars? Hollywire was on scene at ”Connected Celebrity Gifting Party” held at Universal Studios’ Backlot.
We caught the stars as they perused the giant soundstage for goodies.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Robert Buckley (Lipstick Jungle Hottie), Michael Copon, Joey Fatone are just some of the celebrities that came to check out products from high end vendors.
Check out William Shatner. He’s dressed in disguise… probably just resting up for Sunday. He’s shown here with a pair of Aniki Jeans. This Japanese denim line is on par with True Religion starting at $265 a pair.
Here’s Stephen Baldwin at the Aniki booth. I’m starting to see a pattern in how the stars are dressing. Did I miss the memo on hobo chic?
Step aside Godiva, there’s a new chocolatier in the house… literally! Maison de Chocolat (House of Chocolate in French) was present with perfectly crafted goodies. Madeline Zima (Californication) is a fan. A chocoholics dream come true.
Speaking of dreams come true…
That’s Justin Guarini of American Idol pictured with xXxTerra–who got a bit star-struck when he showed up. So star-struck that she even surprised herself & the rest of the Hollywire crew–we don’t get all that star-struck anymore. She was speechless but managed to snag a pic for her memory books!
And, of course, Syndeee with Robert Buckley. Who wouldn’t dream of having a pic with this Hollywood hottie?!
Drinking and smoking… two favorite Hollywood past times. It’s only fitting that Pureux Vodka and Njoy ”Cigarettes” were also present at the Connected Gifting Party.
Peureux is super smooth, ultra premium vodka. It served nicely to loosen up the crowd…the ultimate social lubricant. They were letting you sample it chilled, straight up, or mixed in a drink.
What’s better than walking around receiving free goodies with a drink in hand? I think I saw a few celebs visit this booth more than once–I know we visited at least twice!
Njoy is a non-carcinogenic tar free cigarette alternative. It’s legal to “smoke” Njoy in bars and restaurants. Perfect for health concious celebrities who want to keep their edgy persona. Corey Feldman was saying their great because you can even smoke them in movie theaters–people might give you a weird look at first, as smoke is coming out of your mouth, but they’ll quickly realize there’s no odor or really not even any “smoke”. Michael Copon and Corey Feldman both blew some smoke out for us and it was like vapor. It just dissipates. Pretty innovative.
Another innovation we were wowed over by is Slender Wines–it sounded way too good to be true.
“The World’s only naturally sweetened sugar-free wine. No sugar, no carbs, no fats, no aftertaste, NO KIDDING!” I know what you are thinking, because we thought it: Ok, so if it IS true, it’ll taste like crap! Or, even worse, it’ll come with that warning of stomach cramping like that Olestra stuff they tried to put in potato chips… well, we tried the wine. IT WAS SOOOOO SOOOO GOOD! It was so smooth and sweet and really didn’t have an aftertaste. So, then we drilled the scientist/inventor with questions–no warnings? No stomach cramping? Yep, approved by FDA… Zerose (the sweetener) is the key. Read more about it here.
And JUST because it’s Hollywood and they can, a live elephant was brought to the party. It’s not Hollywood without a dose of over the top theatrics.
Sadly, the crowd seemed unphased by the elephant in the room. I guess a giant elephant at a gifting party is part of a normal day in the life of a celebrity. No, just kidding.
Actually, as we were leaving the Backlot, we happened to walk by this other studio where the elephant was walking around enjoying her hay. A crowd gathered and we found out this was Suzy the elephant and she was getting ready to film a commercial.
Anyhow, our top five celebrities of the day:
Robert Buckley
Rachelle Lefevre
Justin Guarini
Joey Fatone
