New details have surfaced from the fatal ski accident involving Sonny Bono back on January 5, 1998 and investigators believe that the accident may have been staged. Sonny had been given some incriminating evidence just one month before his alleged accident that may have linked the U.S. government to arms and weapons dealers. Investigator Bob Fletcher confessed to sending Bono the evidence that was based on a ten year study. Fletcher claims that, “(Bono) was going to make it his number one priority.”"There’s no doubt in my mind Sonny was murdered by someone who needed him silenced,” Fletcher told the press. Fletcher is not the only person who believes this to be true, Former FBI agent Ted Gunderson also feels that Bono was assassinated and that the accident was staged. Gunderson has spent the last ten years reviewing Bono’s accident and the same evidence that was given to Sonny back in 1997. Based on his research Gunderson feels that there is reason to believe that Bono’s death is related to an international drug ring, whose top officials feared they were about to be exposed. Gunderson is now asking authorities to open a homicide investigation and there are already rumors of three potential suspects.
