Mom-to-be, Jamie Lynn Spears, has apparently been sporting some really nice shiny jewelry that appears to be an engagement ring from boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
Spears, 16, has been flashing her new ring to all her friends and family in Louisianan and Mississippi, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.
“She’s got an engagement ring,” the source says. “She’s been showing it off, talking about it.”
Spears and Aldridge are expecting their baby this summer. No official word yet on a wedding date for the couple.
I don’t know if I like the idea of Jamie Lynn getting married at such a young age. I think she needs to wait awhile before she jumps into any thing too quickly, again. I mean she could be a mom and a divorcee all before she’s 21. What do you think?

I can agree on that, i mean because your gonna be a mom doesn’t scream MARRY ME! and it sure doesn’t mean your more responsible about it. Ofcourse at the same time she’s old enought to make her own decisions and i applade the fact that she and her boyfriend ( to-be husband ) are steppinug up to the plate. Hmmmm…16 & pregnant–not ideal—now, 16, pregnant and getting married–somehow I don’t expect it to last…how many marriages last in general and then stack the odds even further against them cuz of their ages…

i think this is crazy. she is so stupid to get pregnant in the first place and i dont care what anyone says- there is no excuse! to be getting married on top of this is just a disaster and simply wont last.
i think its time her mother or father to finally take responisbilty for their kids ( although it mights be too late for britney) and really deter jamie from this obvious train wreck .
16 is still a kid.
she has her whole life to be married.

i think you should give her a break if this is what she wants to do then let her. i dont see how its any of your buissness. you should respect her because is it was one of your kids you wouldnt say they were being stupid you would help her. so just give her a break.

well, at least she’s not aborting the baby, that really would’ve been a disaster. Still doesn’t make her any smarter though…

yeah you say they’re getting married young and assume it’s a bad thing? maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. maybe the very fact they are young and so in love or whatever means it will work out better than two older people getting married who are already resigned to their lives.
