It would appear as though Miley Cyrus’ Vanity Fair photo shoot is going to have negative effects on the young actress’s career.
Disney released a new episode of Hannah Montana on Sunday and saw a 14% decline in viewership compared to the new episode that aired before her semi-nude photos were released. And viewership has dropped 26% in comparison to the seasons opening episode that aired in January.
Disney President and chief executive officer, Bob Iger, released a statement on Wednesday saying,
With a new season of shows coming up, a new record in July, and a theatrical film next year, the ‘Hannah Montana’/Miley Cyrus franchise is incredibly robust.
Another rep for Disney said, “Have no fear. The ‘Hannah’ phenomenon is still alive and well.”
What may have been a publicity stunt to further her career might now end up hurting it.

It is no surprise when her fan base is about 9-12 year old girls, what mother wants her daughter to idolize that persona. She needs to cater to the fans even if they are so young and keep her private life private, meaning don’t let risky pics leak into the media world. It is fine to have your boyfriends but not over expose it.

Well, of course her ratings are dropping. Parents don’t want their kids, mostly preteens and young boys, to look up their favorite star online only to find inappropriate photos of her. It is sad that her family would allow Vogue to take photos such as that of their young preteen daughter.

I understand why kids mom’s wouldn’t want there kids idolizing Miley after what she did,but I still think what she did wasn’t that. I mean,sure it could’ve been better,but I don’t see the big deal. I think that the mom’s who think they need to protect there kids Miley Cyrus need to wakeup & smell the coffee.

I cant believe it! At first I thought Miley Cyrus was a good roll model for kids but I guess it was a matter of time she dose something stupid.I kinda feel sorry for her. Oh come on people, get over yourselves. How dare a 15 year old girl post up pictures of herself being a typical 15 year old girl? If you’re a parent and this made you stop letting your kid watch this show, then you should be slapped in the face about 300 times, really hard. This is the same kind of kid-coddling BS that’s banning the book Tom Sawyer because it “portrays racism,” and the same reason your idiot kid is going to grow up oblivious to the world’s problems and not know how to make it once they have to fend for themselves. You should have your kids taken away from you.

True everyone makes mistakes at that age but the moment you decide to make yourself known you have to know there is a price.That price is that you are constantly judged and watched . With fame comes responisbilty if you don’t becareful you will crash and burn. Miley has done some very stupid things such as be cruel to demi and selena , if anyone unfamous did that it would go totally unnoticed. Miley needs to clean up her act before she becomes another disney star gone wrong like britney.

Okay Heres the thing.Hannah Montanna is VERY popular with the kids. I have a six year old cousin who wants to be EXACTLY LIKE HER! If she doesnt shape up im going to be afraid that my cousin will do it. I love my cousin, and I dont want her being reflected by what Hannah Montana does.
I dont care who she thinks she is and/or might be but my cousin will NOT be like Hannah Montannah. My cousins says, and I quote”I’m the next Hannah Montanna.” Just because my cousins name is Hannah, hopefully she is the NEW AND IMPROVED Hannah.

hahaha I’m loving it. I hate Disney channel uses the term, “Rocking Out” when referring to Hannah Montana and the Jonas Bros.
Those two are about as far from Rock n’ Roll as Hank Williams Sr.
It’s pretty sad that Hannah Montana’s concerts put as many people in the crowd as Metallica, KISS, and Black Sabbath.
but anyways, I’m glad she did that photo shoot, I can see all of these middle age soccer Moms going ape sh#@ because their daughter’s hero is posing “topless” in Vanity Fair.
She’s got talent just like her Dad, I wish she would drop Disney or at least Hannah Montana. Much respect goes out to her Dad, I’ve always enjoyed his music.

i agree with truejbfan14, blame the actress when i heard of this, i loved miley (selena and demi too at the time also i still LOVE selly and demz) i was going to school and my mouth dropped. i cried my eyes out, one of my role models completely BACKFIRED! i was thinking “oh my JONAS what an idiot for me to love her!” wow, i forgave her, and im SLOWLY starting to sort of like her again
