More scandalous photos have been released on the Internet of teen popstar, Miley Cyrus.
In a radio interview on Z100 in New York, Miley expressed her annoyance with the photo circulation. “There’s nothing wrong with it,” said Cyrus.
Really, Miley? Granted, there’s nothing wrong with having fun with your friends and taking silly (or tween porn) pictures, but I think you are forgetting an important fact - you are not just another average teenager. I know, I know, it sucks (Aww, you poor thing!), but you are under the public eye AT ALL TIMES. You really thought revealing photos of you would not leak? Young kids everywhere look up to you, worship the ground you walk on, and admire the skivvies you wear and bare.
Whether you like it or not, your great fame comes with great responsibility.
But, on a separate note, I totally want that bra in pink.

I’m afraid that Miley has serious condition - she’s a teen girl! Regardless of her celb status it’s going to be difficult for her not to act like one. For those of you who don’t have close contact with a teen girl (my daughter is 13) let me point out that girls her age (and younger) simply cannot resist the urge to take thousands (literally)of photos of themselves in exactly those types of poses. I suppose the only reason this was never an issue in the past is that no one could have afforded to develop the film. Besides, digital cameras provide instant gratification.
As to the “pursing her lips and trying to look sexy” apparently it is the thing to do. I admit to being distressed when my daughter tries to be “sexy” at 13 but she is responding naturally to her environment.
If you really want to get to the core of the issue try goggling “age compression marketing”. When you realize that there are companies out there that are pushing “sexy” as the new cool to 10 year old girls by marketing things like thongs for their age group you’ll probably get angry (right after you barf).
As to the comparison to Britney - I think that’s a bit unfair. My perception has always been that Britney was shamelessly marketed as “sexy” in her early teens by whomever was responsible for cultivating her image (I guess the pedophile market was one of the prime targets). I see no evidence that Miley Cyrus is being packaged in this manner. The only thing these photos indicate is A) a lack of judgment on her part (she’s a kid!) and B) if you are a celebrity anything you do or say will eventually surface in the public eye.
I have to agree with jencel - she was doing what every other girl her age does on a daily basis and it would have gone completely unnoticed except for the fact that she is Miley Cyrus.
Don’t worry that her actions may have a negative impact on her young fans - someone beat her to that a long time ago. Madison Avenue will be responsible for the next generation of neurotic young women obsessed with their appearance, convinced that being “sexy” is the only measure of their value, and believing that they have hit middle age at 20. It’s no wonder Britney has flaked - in her mind she’s a dried up has been who peaked in her teens.

The truth is that these pictures are barely even pg13, if that. I have a 5 year old little girl who simply loves miley/hannah. The pictures I’ve seen that are so called bad don’t worry me at all. Why? Because I have enough sense to talk to my daughter about things that are going on in her world. That includes her world of “role models”. She knows what I feel is appropriate and what isn’t. Now instead of being so judgmental towards her do understand that she is not just your childs role model, she is a young lady having fun. For all you extra uptight people who have never tried to look “cute” or “sexy” in a photo for one reason or another while growing up I feel bad for you. You are the people who have missed out and started creating a society full of obscene rule makers. So in short, do I think she is being trashy? Lastly, it’s not about “judging” HER- I’m more worried what other young impressionable kids (6 year old- teens) are learning from the girl they look up to soo much! My 9 year old niece should have a better role model and shouldn’t think showing your underwear, posing for “sexy” pictures and trying to dress “sexy” is appropriate for her age. Come one, whoever thinks 15 year olds are “sexy” is disturbed. That’s nasty! And yes, parents should teach their children what’s right and wrong… but they also look to peers for acceptance and advice. Parents can only do so much when the media tells a different story. I mean take an example of body type- parents always tell kids that being ’stick thin’ isn’t healthy or the norm- but we have the highest rates of anorexia and bulimia right now! Because of the media and the role models of these girls. Very few women/girls in showbiz are overweight and if they are they’re heckled for it. Parents are always fighting against celebrities and the media.
So back to Miley…Disney & her parents should really put a stop to this! If I would have shown my boyfriend my bra and underwear (and it IS different than a swimsuit!!) at that age I’d of been grounded forever! She doesn’t seem to be at a place in her life (or with herself) where she can be a positive role model and should get help or step down.
