'Beauty and the Beast' To Become a Live-Action Film?
Is a live-action film remake of beloved Disney cartoon Beauty and the Beast in the works? Composer Alan Menken seems to think so. In an interview with Italian newspaper La stampa, Menken said:
" … I am preparing the soundtracks of two Disney animated feature: Rapunzel and The Snow Queen, in addition (to) a live-action musical film about Beauty and the Beast, plus a new (Broadway) musical that will debut in fall 2010, Leap of Faith."
The stage musical version of the movie was great, but, really? A new movie? Disney, do us all a favor and leave this classic alone. There's no way any remake could possibly compare to the fantastic 1991 animated version.
