It's Confirmed! - Chris Evans to Be Playing Captian America!
Many of Hollywood's best tried out for the role of Captain America, but it was Chris Evans that was victorious! The 'Fantastic Four' star has been tapped to be in the movie version of the Marvel Comic superhero. Landing this role also paved the way for an upcoming movie called 'Avengers' that will also feature the Marvel heroes Iron Man, Nick Fury, Thor and the Hulk.
Producers had Evans tested and liked what they saw, immediately contacting him with an offer. It took a few days for Evans to respond, but he did accept the offer! Contract negotiations are already underway, putting this movie on the fast track.
Some of the stars that tried out were John Krasinski of 'The Office' fame, Chace Crawford of 'Gossip Girl' and Jonas Brothers Joe and Kevin, among others. Even Alex Ross, the artist who recently helped redesign the Captain America character for Marvel Comics was lobbying for 'Mad Men' Jon Hamm to get the part! Talk about stiff competition!
The writer for 'Captain America's Adventures,' Ed Brubaker, says via Twitter “I’m good with that. He was easily the best thing in the FF movies and he’s been amazing in some others.”
