Zac Efron has pulled out of his deal with Paramount Pictures to star in the remake of “Footloose” which originally starred Kevin Bacon. The reason for Efron’s sudden departure from the project is reportedly an attempt to prevent typecasting, since up until now he has only been in musical films. Efron’s management want to show Hollywood that he is versatile and can play many different roles besides a singing and dancing teenager. Regardless of Efron’s absence, Kenny Ortega, director of the High School Musical franchise is still directing the “Footloose” remake, so you know you’re in for a hell of a lotta cheesy singing and dancing!
