So, at the expense of possibly sounding really really stupid here, I’m just going to admit right off the bat that I had NO idea that Corey Feldman had a band.

NO idea that he could play the guitar, the sitar, and the harmonica.  NO idea that he could sing.

I write about all things Hollywood and therefore should have probably have known about this, but somehow I just didn’t.  His band is called Truth Movement and they we’re performing to bring more attention to the Green Movement.  In fact, Ed Bagley, Jr. was there to give a speech about Fuel before the show began.

So, what do I think now that I’ve seen him perform?  Epic.  No other word to describe it.  Just EPIC.

He builds such intensity in his show…it’s more like a journey than a concert.  I will tell you , honestly, that during the softer tones of songs, his voice seems to falter or not quite hold it’s edge.  It doesn’t sound bad, but rather just a little weak.  However, when he goes for it and amplifies his voice…

…it’s energizing, moving, and evocative…like, think AFI’s long belting melodic notes.  You know, hitting a note so perfectly and so emotionally charged that you just don’t want it to end.

I think the overall feel to his music is somewhat reminiscent of Juno Reactor too (I mean, talk about taking you on a journey, Juno Reactor definitely does that!).

So, ya, my lil’videos do not do his concert justice at all.  But, for all of you out there who also had no idea that Corey was so multi-talented, the vids will at least give you a small sampling of his range of performanship (<–is that a real word? If not, it should be).

I attended Corey’s concert with Corey’s friend of more than 20 years, Jeff Conaway, and his girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi.

We had a table for 7 up in the VIP area of The Key Club.

Then we got to head down to Corey’s private after party in the basement (basement sounds seedy, but the Key Club basement is not that at all.  It’s like a whole separate club within a club).

Anyhow, it was at the afterparty that I met Vikki’s friend, Kaden, who I decided would make a perfect Edward Cullen (the gorgeous vampire in Twilight).
