Lady GaGa took the VMA red carpet by storm when she showed up with Kermit the Frog as her date.

Lady GaGa spoke with MTV VJ Sway on the red carpet saying, “It’s our first date and we’ve been eying each other for some time.”

Kermit explained the situation a little differently saying, “GaGa and I, we’re just friends.”

In addition to her shocking date, Lady GaGa stuck to her unusual fashion sense, wearing a black feather dress, half face mask, and a large black hat.

The star, who was tied with Beyonce with nine nominations, lived up to the hype and put on an awesome performance later in the evening.
