Last night, the weirdest combination of people that I have ever seen in LA (and that is saying A LOT) came out in droves to UCLA Medical Center in Westwood to celebrate and remember the life of Michael Jackson.
It was nice to get away from the office where jokes abounded and actually be surrounded by people who were being solemn, celebratory and, at the very least, more respectful of the passing of a man who shaped the way pop music, it's videos and tracks, sound forever.

There were dance-offs involving grandmas and MJ impersonators, gloved-hands (from diamond-studded to garden gloves), candle-lit vigils, t-shirts HOT off the press and at least 50 news cameras capturing it all.
The real goal I think everyone had (other than the peeps slanging lop-sided t-shirts) was just to be a part of a community grieving in all different ways
While I may have been unsuccessful in teaching my dog how to moonwalk while we were there, everyone walked away feeling like they had a piece of the experience to call their own.
