New Opera: 'Timberbrit'?
The trials of Britney Spears' life have reached a new high - an opera dedicated to her tragic tale.
You know, most dramatic celebrities have a movie dedicated to their complicated, roller coaster life, but I guess Britney Spears has always been on a whole new playing field.
'Timberbrit' - as in Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears - will mirror Britney's last concert and the final hours of her life. Justin, who has been absent from her life, returns to win back her love. But in the end, she chooses the love of her dedicated fans rather than an actual relationship with a man who she probably wouldn't put a restraining order against.
Composer Jacob Cooper decided to embrace the traditional operatic drama and mix it with the contemporary pop culture icons. So instead of her pop songs with fast beats, Cooper used digital art software to slow down her music and give the lyrics meaning for the opera.
Recently, Cooper and cast shot a music video of "Toxic" calling it "Worst Fantasy"...Oh dear. This should be VERY interesting.
If you're thinking what I'm thinking, this is slightly ridiculous!! Who knows if this modern twist on Opera and contemporary icons will save opera for this generation. Or possibly inspire other operas of its kind. Next opera: Lindsey Lohan and Sam Ronson??
