New Song 'Twitter Girl' Will Make You Wanna Dance & Tweet

Twitter is all the rage, so it's no surprise that someone wrote a song about it.  That someone is Michael Copon, who many might not know is also involved in music; he collaborated with rapper ChadB to write and produce the soon to be epic "Twitter Girl" song.

Whether you tweet or not, the song makes you wanna dance, right?

Other than its newfound popularity, we wanted to know what inspired Michael to write a song about Twitter.

This is what he had to say about Twitter:

At first, I didn't get Twitter. This was my exact quote on facebook: "officially doesn't understand what twitter has that myspace and facebook have... myspace is like being able to paint anything you want! facebook is like the painting with the numbers and you just paint the numbers, and twitter is like a painting already done! you can only change one color and hang it up! hahaha WHY are we twittering???"

I kept trying to figure it out, then I realized that you can easily text your status twitt (and I call it 'twitt,' not 'tweet') from your phone every hour, wherever you are.  And if you are following someone, you can have their twitts come direct to your phone, so you know what they are doing. It's a great way to stay more connected!

Michael on what inspired him:

The more I Twittered, the more ideas I would fill my head for a song, so I finally sat down in my room and started writing lyrics, and stayed up all night and day for an entire weekend. Then I just called my boy ChadB and we cut the record. ChadB was in New York, so it was tricky recording together--we had to email the files to each other. We wanted to be the first since its becoming the new thing--it was on Oprah last week--that's big!  And now, I'm hooked on my twitter!
