So long, TRL!

When one of MTV's most popular shows became My Super Sweet 16, I knew MTV had taken a turn and strayed far away from the good old music videos.  I believe the last music video I've seen is Fiona Apple's Criminal.  Yes, every adolescent boy's favorite.  Now, with the alleged removal of MTV's longtime music video countdown, it looks like the popularity of the traditional music video may be gone for good.

Rumor has it that MTV is taking Total Request Live off the air; its two-hour finale airing this coming November.  TRL has recently celebrated its ten year anniversary and it looks like MTV plans on celebrating their diamond commemoration with a farewell.  This is definitely the end of an era ...
