The Scene from the 2009 Sunset Strip Music Festival
For the first time ever, the Sunset Strip was shut down between San Vicente Boulevard and Doheny Drive for a music festival! It was more fun the I ever expected... There was a VERY diverse line up including the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, The Donnas and LMFAO were also on the bill, and yes even the Kottonmouth Kings. It was a great day and it was PACKED!
All the legendary Sunset Strip clubs -- the Roxy, the Whisky, the Viper Room, the Cat Club and the Key Club -- were open if you had a wristband. There were plenty of vendors serving all kinds of food, drinks, and yes... beer. In fact one of the best parts about the music selection on the outdoor stages was how the well the bands matched up.
The Kottonmouth Kings had the audience in a DAZE on the East stage. Coincidentally, the KMK's were scheduled to be on the stage at 4:20 p.m. wink, wink. The KMK did a nice shout out to DJ AM.
And I must say Korn was definitely better than expected. They had the crowd goin off, one special fan was freaking out screaming every word and crying. Korn even cover a Pink Floyd song and it sounded Great!

[/caption]And the there was all the party music. Shiny Toy Guns started it off and despite some technical difficulties, put on an awesome show.

[/caption]Shwayze and Cisco Adler gave all the high school girls everything they could have ever dreamed of ... haha But im not even gonna hate, they really rocked it!

Can you spot Hollywire's own, Katie K in the crowd?????

And then there was the party rockers themselves LMFAO. They had every prop that you could think of and the most adorable dancers, and the bottle of Grey Goose didn't go unnoticed. They where giving out free shots to the crowd. They also took out some time to remember DJ AM.

[/caption]And then there was OZZY!!!!!!!!
He was sooooo awesome. I never expected soo much energy and hype from him. He came to the stage crazy excited and packing a fire hose of foam. Ozzy did it alllllll... he went through his solo and Sabbath library and had everyone's hands up clapping and tossing the devil horns, and for the fans in the from taking a foam bath.

Ozzy was most def the highlight of the day!
After Ozzy played all the clubs were open with bands playing all night. I stumbled in and out of a few of them and I found an AMAZING cover band(s)...... 'No Duh' and 'Blonde Day'.
Okay so this was the same band and Every member dresses and acts soooo perfect! It was great! the lead singer has this amazing vioce and she really controls the crowds and keeps the energy really high! You have to check them out.

I really cant wait for next year Im sure the SSMF will only get Bigger and Better! The only thing that was kind lame... I must say.... Once your inside and you have your wristband and such, you should be able to go in and out of the clubs as you please but you cant... They make you take out your ID every damn time and you can only drink inside the club and inside the beer garden.... I hope that changes for next year.
Ill leave you with this!
