Comedian Bernie Mac has been hospitalized with pneumonia. It is not clear when Bernie entered the hospital, but he is expected to be released soon. Danica Smith, Bernie’s publicist, stated that, “Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment and will be released soon.” Smith also stated that the pneumonia is not related to Bernie’s sarcoidosis, which has been in remission since 2005. Bernie Mac’s wife of 31 years, Rhonda McCullough, has remained at his bedside and Bernie has asked, “that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well.”

TO THE MAC FAMILY:
MY PRAYERS AND LOVE GOES OUT TO THE FAMILY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. BUT KNOW THAT THE LORD IS WITH YOU ALL. MR. MAC, WAS A GREAT MAN AND COMEDIAN OF ALL TIMES. I WILL TRULY MISS HIM, BUT REMEMBER WE SHALL SEE HIM AGAIN IN THAT GREAT GETTING UP DAY. AGAIN GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
