Angelina Jolie's tattoos all have a very personal and heartfelt meaning behind them and I'm sure her latest one for Brad Pitt isn't any different.  Only this time she's keeping that meaning a secret.

Shoulder tattoo -- "may your enemies run far away from you

      if you acquire riches, may they remain yours always
      your beauty will be that of Apsara
      wherever you may go, many will attend, serve and protect you,       surrounding you on all sides"
is a Buddhist Pali incantation written in Khmer script.

 

Hip tattoo -- "quod me nutrit me destruit," is Latin for "what nourishes me, destroys me."

 

Shoulder blades -- "know your rights" is the title of a song from her favorite band

 

Right arm -- "determination" in Arabic

 

Left underarm -- "XII" is Roman number 13. She had this done because she doesn't believe in superstitions. Later added "V MCMXL" which is 13 May 1940... the day Winston Churchill stated, "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat."

 

Left arm -- "A PRAYER FOR THE WILD HEART, KEPT IN CAGES"  words of Tennessee Williams.

This tattoo is the longitudes and latitudes from the locations where her children were born.

 

Lower back -- A Bengal tiger to celebrate her Cambodian citizenship. Done on July 8, 2004 in Bangkok by tattoo artist Sompong Kanhphai, who also blessed the tattoo by chanting an ancient hymn.

 

That's just a few of Angelina's most meaningful tattoos. In addition, she has had many removed or covered by new tattoos. 

 

The new tat for Brad Pitt is on one of the most intimate parts of the body, but since she won't share any details the guessing game behind it's meaning will probably go on for awhile.
